Cubs season HR pace: 47
Soriano XBH/GIDP: 0/3
Bryan LaHair PA/game: 2.6
Soto/Clevenger TB: 12/14

Good win yesterday. Didn't see that one coming.

I didn't see it at all. Given what happened in the Hawks game, I was wishing I dropped the 49 cents on the Cubs ticket instead.

Castro SB/E: 7/7

Season pace: 48-114
Pythag pace: 57-105

So...you don't need to even touch the plate to be safe anymore, let alone beat the tag.
   5. SouthSideRyan Posted: April 24, 2012 at 08:42 PM (#4115221)
What tag?
   6. SouthSideRyan Posted: April 24, 2012 at 09:08 PM (#4115260)
UPDATE THOSE STATS BRIAN!
   7. SouthSideRyan Posted: April 24, 2012 at 09:19 PM (#4115271)
I don't know who Jesse James is, but...yeah

Marmol sucks, but you won't beat the Cardinals very often with just one run. Stewart and Barney had embarrassing at-bats in that second and third, no out situation.
   9. McCoy Posted: April 24, 2012 at 10:53 PM (#4115401)
LaHair!
   10. SouthSideRyan Posted: April 24, 2012 at 10:53 PM (#4115402)
I ####### LOVE YOU BRYAN LAHAIR

YOU HIT HOME RUNS FOR THE CUBS
   11. McCoy Posted: April 24, 2012 at 10:54 PM (#4115403)
I was just coming in to say that Michael Bowden looks like he'll fit right in with this bullpen when LaHair hit that thing.
   12. McCoy Posted: April 24, 2012 at 10:54 PM (#4115405)
Of course Mitch Williams is on MLBN telling the viewers that Jason Motte should have been in the game no matter what.
   13. McCoy Posted: April 24, 2012 at 10:56 PM (#4115406)
LEfty to lefty is really the best matchup Dale can do?
   14. SouthSideRyan Posted: April 24, 2012 at 10:59 PM (#4115407)
Probably figured since it worked for LaHair, might as well push it. Baker really should've batted for Stewart there.
   15. McCoy Posted: April 24, 2012 at 10:59 PM (#4115409)
RAlly!
   16. McCoy Posted: April 24, 2012 at 11:04 PM (#4115412)
And those three strikes are why Mather isn't a starter.
   17. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: April 24, 2012 at 11:09 PM (#4115416)
Yeah, Mather looked over-matched.
   18. McCoy Posted: April 24, 2012 at 11:11 PM (#4115418)
IF this game was played 10 years ago I would predict Rob Neyer writing a column about how Matheny did the caveman move of sitting his closer down once the tying run scored to "save" him once they regain the lead.
   19. SouthSideRyan Posted: April 24, 2012 at 11:12 PM (#4115419)
Damn, Russell looked filthy that inning.
   20. McCoy Posted: April 24, 2012 at 11:14 PM (#4115423)
Isn't Russell the only Cub pitcher to not allow a run?
   21. SouthSideRyan Posted: April 24, 2012 at 11:15 PM (#4115425)
Well, him and Bowden.
   22. SouthSideRyan Posted: April 24, 2012 at 11:19 PM (#4115430)
Uhhhh, ok.
   23. McCoy Posted: April 24, 2012 at 11:28 PM (#4115434)
Soriano needs to start hitting if he doesn't want to ride the bench when Rizzo comes up.
   24. SouthSideRyan Posted: April 24, 2012 at 11:29 PM (#4115436)
I can get used to this beating the Cardinals thing.
   25. McCoy Posted: April 24, 2012 at 11:30 PM (#4115437)
Cubs win!
   26. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: April 24, 2012 at 11:30 PM (#4115438)
Wow, some bad breaks for the Cards in this one.
   27. SouthSideRyan Posted: April 24, 2012 at 11:31 PM (#4115439)
