If it weren't for the St. Louis Houston matchup this would be the best pitching matchup of the day.
   2. Ben Posted: September 03, 2005 at 08:04 PM (#1595483)
Indians are going to score -2 runs today
   3. ronh Posted: September 03, 2005 at 08:11 PM (#1595492)
With Millwood and Santana pitching followed by the best bullpens in baseball, will the score be 0-0 in the 16th inning?
   4. Tony H. Posted: September 03, 2005 at 08:19 PM (#1595510)
So I had been looking forward to today for weeks. And then last night I dreamt that Oklahoma would lose to TCU, Cleveland would lose to Minnesota, and the US would lose to Mexico.

So far I'm one for one.

Hey, Garko's up. Sweet.
   6. VG Posted: September 03, 2005 at 11:31 PM (#1595919)
Is Garko in for Uncle Victor? SportsLine has Uncle Vic -- who is on my fantasy team -- in the lineup but also José Hernández *shudder* at first. Is that where Garko is playing? That would make sense.
   7. Veee Posted: September 03, 2005 at 11:38 PM (#1595928)
Garko is not in the starting lineup
   8. zempf Posted: September 03, 2005 at 11:57 PM (#1595953)
Why is Tyner DHing? He's got a career .299 SLG.. the Twins might be better off just letting Santana take a shot at it.
   9. VG Posted: September 04, 2005 at 12:15 AM (#1595990)
Well, at least Santana won't injure himself batting. That's the main advantage.
   10. Big Ears Teddy shouldn't see TFTIO Posted: September 04, 2005 at 12:15 AM (#1595991)
Why is Tyner DHing?

Welcome to GardyWorld.
   11. Veee Posted: September 04, 2005 at 12:18 AM (#1596003)
First!
   12. Tony H. Posted: September 04, 2005 at 12:23 AM (#1596019)
Kevin Millwood couldn't get run support if I was the opposing pitcher.
   13. Bernal Diaz has an angel on his shoulder Posted: September 04, 2005 at 12:27 AM (#1596036)
It is kind of strange how the team doesn;t score when he pitches isnt it?
   14. Veee Posted: September 04, 2005 at 12:32 AM (#1596050)
Thanks Nick
   15. Veee Posted: September 04, 2005 at 12:34 AM (#1596052)
I'm pretty sure there are a few pitchers every year who just get terrible run support. Its gotta be a fluke thing
   16. Veee Posted: September 04, 2005 at 12:44 AM (#1596076)
Millwood's run support is actually better then I thought

Cliff Lee 6.22
Jake Westbrook 5.55
C.C. Sabathia 5.38
Scott Elarton 5.33
Kevin Millwood 3.94
...
Zack Greinke 2.82
   17. Big Ears Teddy shouldn't see TFTIO Posted: September 04, 2005 at 12:45 AM (#1596079)
Good lord, is this some feeble offense.
   18. VG Posted: September 04, 2005 at 12:51 AM (#1596096)
Nice. Santana hasn't allowed a run or a walk and struck out 8 and Morneau has an RBI double. Both are good for my fantasy team.

I had Millwood earlier this year. Traded him to scotto for Aubrey Huff in early August.
   19. Veee Posted: September 04, 2005 at 12:52 AM (#1596098)
I suspect that 2 will be enough tonight
   20. Bernal Diaz has an angel on his shoulder Posted: September 04, 2005 at 12:57 AM (#1596125)
Pronk has power.
   21. Veee Posted: September 04, 2005 at 01:00 AM (#1596139)
At least we know that Santana is human
   22. Veee Posted: September 04, 2005 at 01:10 AM (#1596181)
I think we almost witnessed Jason Tyner's first career HR
   23. Veee Posted: September 04, 2005 at 01:13 AM (#1596194)
To be fair, Tyner did hit one in AAA last year
   24. Bernal Diaz has an angel on his shoulder Posted: September 04, 2005 at 01:16 AM (#1596203)
Sonofabitch I though Boone hit that one out.
   25. Veee Posted: September 04, 2005 at 01:19 AM (#1596209)
So did Manning
   26. Bernal Diaz has an angel on his shoulder Posted: September 04, 2005 at 01:33 AM (#1596255)
hell yeah, tied up.
   27. Veee Posted: September 04, 2005 at 01:33 AM (#1596256)
Productive outs!
   28. Big Ears Teddy shouldn't see TFTIO Posted: September 04, 2005 at 01:34 AM (#1596257)
Thanks, Joe.
   29. Tony H. Posted: September 04, 2005 at 01:34 AM (#1596259)
yes
   30. VG Posted: September 04, 2005 at 01:36 AM (#1596262)
How are Castro, Punto and Bartlett all in the game at the same time? Defensive replacement?
   31. Veee Posted: September 04, 2005 at 01:37 AM (#1596263)
Nathan's first run allowed since the break
   32. Tony H. Posted: September 04, 2005 at 01:38 AM (#1596266)
yay boone
   33. Veee Posted: September 04, 2005 at 01:38 AM (#1596268)

   34. My guest will be Jermaine Allensworth Posted: September 04, 2005 at 01:40 AM (#1596273)
I posted this in White Sox game chatter:

Sounds like one of those games where Santana goes seven scoreless, and then somebody like Jesse Crain blows it in the ninth.
...

I just threw Crain out there. I have Santana on my fantasy team, and I’ve seen him put up good lines without the win because some reliever who’s supposed to be good botched it.

You're welcome, Cleveland.
   35. Tony H. Posted: September 04, 2005 at 01:40 AM (#1596275)
good christ. pathetic.
   36. Ben Posted: September 04, 2005 at 01:40 AM (#1596276)
Shapiro needs to "Wedge-proof" the roster and give him a real platoon 1B since Wedge has shown that he's willing to play any infielder who bats righthanded there against LHP.
   37. Veee Posted: September 04, 2005 at 01:40 AM (#1596277)
What a waste. Well, it was funny, anyway
   38. VG Posted: September 04, 2005 at 01:41 AM (#1596280)
Well, I've never seen that before.
   39. Don Guillote (The Cheat) Posted: September 04, 2005 at 01:41 AM (#1596281)
Thank you, lil Nicky Punto
   40. Big Ears Teddy shouldn't see TFTIO Posted: September 04, 2005 at 01:42 AM (#1596284)
Well, I’ve never seen that before.

And that's the beauty of baseball. Of TWINT baseball.
   41. Ben Posted: September 04, 2005 at 01:42 AM (#1596285)
Also, did Belliard not understand the situation? He gave up on that ball when it was obvious he wasn't going to get the out. The guy was on second, not third.
   42. Veee Posted: September 04, 2005 at 01:45 AM (#1596290)
So I had been looking forward to today for weeks.? And then last night I dreamt that Oklahoma would lose to TCU, Cleveland would lose to Minnesota, and the US would lose to Mexico.

So how's USA v Mexico going?
   43. Bernal Diaz has an angel on his shoulder Posted: September 04, 2005 at 01:46 AM (#1596292)
USA won 2-0
   44. VG Posted: September 04, 2005 at 01:47 AM (#1596294)
Of TWINT baseball.

Yeah, that looked like any number of Twins victories over the Sox the last five years.

What, exactly, is TWINT? I understand it in context, but I'm curious what the etymology is.
   45. Veee Posted: September 04, 2005 at 01:49 AM (#1596297)
USA won 2-0

Eases the pain
   46. Tony H. Posted: September 04, 2005 at 01:51 AM (#1596300)
Beasley had a sweet goal.
   47. RB in NYC (Now Semi-Retired from BBTF) Posted: September 04, 2005 at 08:54 PM (#1597220)
Thank you Minny
   48. Big Ears Teddy shouldn't see TFTIO Posted: September 04, 2005 at 08:59 PM (#1597228)
