Cubs season HR pace: 132
Starlin Castro NL dWAR rank: 2
Darwin Barney NL WAR rank, overall: t5
Team defensive efficiency (NL rank): .699 (t5)

Had to comment on this from last night's chat:

Just heard some heckler yell, "HEY BARNEY YOU BIG PURPLE DINOSAUR!"

Stay classy, South Side.

Heh--actually, as heckling goes, I think this is pretty good. Good balance of funny-in-a-totally-goofy-way with inoffensive all-in-good-funness. Which, sadly, is kind of rare.

I mean, it sure beats the hell out of the "Pujols mows my lawn" shirts and the like.
   4. Brian C Posted: June 19, 2012 at 12:37 PM (#4161061)
Oh sure, didn't want to make it sound like I was offended by it or anything.

I'm sure if they knew he was half Japanese the heckling would've differed.

I think Sunday night's game dropped the Cubs' defensive efficiency ranking from 3 to 5 all by itself.

I dunno, he's too little for a Godzilla taunt to have much effect.

Chris Archer goes tomorrow against Strasburg.

I finally got MLB.TV to sync with the WGN broadcast because I couldn't take Hawk Harrelson for more then two innings. I am starting to wonder if DeJesus will be on the market.

#9 Feel free to use the tips that I provided on my Radio Delay page on my personal web site. No ads or anything sinister, just trying to spread the wealth. I was driven to it by the likes of Tim McCarver as well as a desire to listen to the more descriptive play-by-play from the radio guys. Cheers!

I have a DVR which makes makes fairly easy. The hard part is the MLB.TV is sometimes ahead, sometimes behind. The other downside is that I don't want to turn to the NBA Finals to check on the score once I have paused the live broadcast.
   12. SouthSideRyan Posted: June 19, 2012 at 10:02 PM (#4161638)
Record the Cubs game and follow along 2 seconds (or whatever) behind. When you flip to the NBA game, flip back by going to resume recording on your DVR rather than going straight to the channel.

I believe Sveum is trying make Camp's arm fall off.
   14. SteveM. Posted: June 19, 2012 at 10:14 PM (#4161653)
Campy was safe on that pickoff.

So... Marmol in the 9th? Eek.
   16. SteveM. Posted: June 19, 2012 at 10:32 PM (#4161664)
That is why we need some insurance here.
   17. SteveM. Posted: June 19, 2012 at 10:35 PM (#4161665)
Unfuckingbelievable. Guy on 3rd with no outs and the Cubs can't get him home.
   18. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: June 19, 2012 at 10:40 PM (#4161667)
Well I'm sure stranding the leadoff triple won't come back to bite these guys in the ass.
   19. SteveM. Posted: June 19, 2012 at 10:42 PM (#4161668)
Marmol back as closer. What could go wrong?
   20. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: June 19, 2012 at 10:42 PM (#4161669)
As the Cubs were stranding the lead-off triple, Aramis Ramirez hit a go-ahead grand slam in Milwaukee.
   21. SteveM. Posted: June 19, 2012 at 10:50 PM (#4161671)
Jesus, the fracking walks by Marmol drive me insane.
   22. SteveM. Posted: June 19, 2012 at 10:52 PM (#4161673)
Holy crap, Marmol got the save.
   23. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: June 19, 2012 at 10:52 PM (#4161674)
Thank god for the corpse of Orlando Hudson.
   24. SteveM. Posted: June 19, 2012 at 10:52 PM (#4161675)
And let me say that I have been impressed by Clevinger's play at 1B in this series.
