Miles back to the DL, Sam Fuld up.

Once again, I'm too busy this week to write a recap. If anyone wants to write one, I'll post it.

Here's a recap of last week:

This team continues to make me throw up in my mouth.

Done.

These guys stink.

These guys don't actually stink -- I just like to say that. They're just damn frustrating.
   4. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: June 29, 2009 at 09:13 PM (#3237011)
They aren't bad enough to sink to 2006 depths, but it's looking more like they could be on the slow grind to mediocrity a la 2005.

The hitting with RISP is puzzling, but the physical and mental errors are inexcusable.

Moses, I had planned on attempting weekly write-ups in your absence, but this team is so boring I have no clue what I'd put in there.

Sometimes its very cathartic to put in numbers how poorly certain guys are doing. Other times, it's just frustrating. But trying to turn those rants into somewhat of an coherent post seems to calm me down.

I haven't seen a lot of games the past couple of weeks - and I'm not going to see today or tomorrow's either, so I've luckily missed what have surely been some of the more infuriating games we've seen since the Dusty era.

I seriously considered just posting Weeks's #2. If tonight goes poorly, I just might.
   8. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: June 29, 2009 at 11:25 PM (#3237172)
Blanco is now just nine RBI off the pace of Bradley's total. That's pretty embarrassing all things considered.
   9. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: June 29, 2009 at 11:26 PM (#3237175)
And safe to say it'll probably be Ryan Freel who gets the ax when Ramirez returns. Fox has shown value, Miles is unfortunately untouchable right now, and Blanco's shown his value with the glove and occasional tendency to drive in runs.
   10. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: June 29, 2009 at 11:42 PM (#3237202)
Was that The Riot's first non-Wrigley homer of his career?
   11. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: June 29, 2009 at 11:56 PM (#3237222)
I'm sort of glad Freel sucks, since it will keep Blanco safe.
   12. Andere Richtingen Posted: June 30, 2009 at 12:07 AM (#3237240)
Keep Blanco safe from what? I'm more concerned about being safe from Blanco.
   13. Andere Richtingen Posted: June 30, 2009 at 12:08 AM (#3237247)
What a #### at bat from Soriano.
   14. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: June 30, 2009 at 12:14 AM (#3237259)
He's got a great glove, Andere. He might be something of a black hole with the bat, but he's no worse than the current alternatives at second. With his defense considered, he's easily better than both Fontenot and Miles.

Our 1-2-3 guys have provided a nine- and six-pitch inning for Duke already.
   15. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: June 30, 2009 at 12:18 AM (#3237269)
Look what Duke started.
   16. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: June 30, 2009 at 12:21 AM (#3237277)
That could've gotten ugly. I've seen the Bucs reel out streams of hits several times this season against various teams.
   17. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: June 30, 2009 at 12:24 AM (#3237281)
Morgan played that like Soriano would have.
   18. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: June 30, 2009 at 12:28 AM (#3237287)
More shitty hitting with RISP.
   19. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: June 30, 2009 at 12:45 AM (#3237297)
Have either Theriot or Soriano seen more than three pitches in any of their at-bats tonight? I had to shut down Firefox for a couple minutes and completely missed the top of the 7th.
   20. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: June 30, 2009 at 12:48 AM (#3237299)
This outfield's ####### embarrassing.
   21. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: June 30, 2009 at 01:00 AM (#3237315)
That was such a tedious way to have a guy eventually thrown out.
   22. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: June 30, 2009 at 01:06 AM (#3237326)
Pirates didn't even let Marmol work a deep count.
   23. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: June 30, 2009 at 01:10 AM (#3237332)
Our old friend Casey Maghee just hit a slam to put the Brewers up 7-2 on the Mets.
   24. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: June 30, 2009 at 01:14 AM (#3237339)
These chatters in recent weeks have been me more or less keeping myself company. Maybe SSR chiming in here and there to remind us how awful Miles is.
   25. VoodooR Posted: June 30, 2009 at 01:16 AM (#3237342)
Whatever happened to retro-shiite?
   26. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: June 30, 2009 at 01:20 AM (#3237343)
I don't know. But I miss the old gang. I know this has been a terribly frustrating season and many of the regulars have had real life interject in recent months. That circle of people is what originally persuaded me to join here back in July 2006 after two years of lurking.
   27. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: June 30, 2009 at 01:22 AM (#3237345)
Wow, where'd that miss?
   28. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: June 30, 2009 at 01:22 AM (#3237347)
A clean inning!
   29. VoodooR Posted: June 30, 2009 at 01:35 AM (#3237368)
Cubs win! Gregg gets the save.

They really need to sweep the Bucs; my mood has been sour lately.
