I would like to win this series.

OK, every series.

But this series would be nice.
   2. Lassus Posted: April 20, 2012 at 07:15 PM (#4111839)
Nice work, Niese.
   3. AJM Posted: April 20, 2012 at 07:30 PM (#4111846)
Belt on the bench again, ugh.

29 pitches for Zito.
   4. Lassus Posted: April 20, 2012 at 07:32 PM (#4111848)
Should have been more, grrrr.....

I remember when Dusty sat Votto for even too long.
   5. Lassus Posted: April 20, 2012 at 07:38 PM (#4111852)
Niese, yikes.
   6. Lassus Posted: April 20, 2012 at 07:39 PM (#4111853)
Torres' return is going to be a sad day.
   7. AJM Posted: April 20, 2012 at 07:41 PM (#4111854)
That was lucky.
   8. Lassus Posted: April 20, 2012 at 07:43 PM (#4111855)
That was lucky.

I guess to me, without the stumble, it didn't look deep enough to score Posey. Could be wrong.
   9. AJM Posted: April 20, 2012 at 07:50 PM (#4111859)
Damn. At least it was Pagan.
   10. Lassus Posted: April 20, 2012 at 07:50 PM (#4111860)
Oh look, new fences.
   11. Lassus Posted: April 20, 2012 at 07:51 PM (#4111861)
Niese getting hit pretty hard.
   12. AJM Posted: April 20, 2012 at 08:00 PM (#4111866)
Could've been worse, I guess.
   13. Lassus Posted: April 20, 2012 at 08:04 PM (#4111869)
Holy Heidi Watney, who is THAT?
   14. AJM Posted: April 20, 2012 at 08:10 PM (#4111873)
Tiffany Simons, Burkhardt is on assignment.
   15. Lassus Posted: April 20, 2012 at 08:22 PM (#4111880)
This is going badly. I'm going to go pick up ingredients to make an apple cobbler.
   16. Lassus Posted: April 20, 2012 at 08:23 PM (#4111881)
I SAY IT HERE, IT COMES OUT THERE.

This is a good sign for both the game and my cobbler.
   17. AJM Posted: April 20, 2012 at 08:24 PM (#4111883)
Bay, not completely toast yet.
   18. AJM Posted: April 20, 2012 at 08:38 PM (#4111890)
Kirk!
   19. Gonna break my Rusty Kuntz and run . . . Arbitol Posted: April 20, 2012 at 08:51 PM (#4111898)
Kirk to the bridge!
   20. Gonna break my Rusty Kuntz and run . . . Arbitol Posted: April 20, 2012 at 08:51 PM (#4111899)
Kirk's game seems to translate to the bigs. That's very encouraging.
   21. Gonna break my Rusty Kuntz and run . . . Arbitol Posted: April 20, 2012 at 08:54 PM (#4111901)
Wow - announcers just said Kirk's was the first oppo home run by a Mets LHB at Citi.
   22. Gonna break my Rusty Kuntz and run . . . Arbitol Posted: April 20, 2012 at 08:54 PM (#4111903)
Announcers being Gary.
   23. Gonna break my Rusty Kuntz and run . . . Arbitol Posted: April 20, 2012 at 09:03 PM (#4111906)
Mota. I hate this guy.
   24. Lassus Posted: April 20, 2012 at 09:14 PM (#4111910)
I see my shopping trip was only good for one more run. Disappointing.
   25. AJM Posted: April 20, 2012 at 09:15 PM (#4111912)
Nice DP.
   26. PreservedFish Posted: April 20, 2012 at 09:19 PM (#4111915)
OK. Let's go Mets!
   27. PreservedFish Posted: April 20, 2012 at 09:23 PM (#4111917)
Remember the great Justin Turner vs Brad Emaus debates?
   28. Lassus Posted: April 20, 2012 at 09:24 PM (#4111918)
The idea that anyone is working to get Baxter or even Turner a start at this point is irritating.
   29. PreservedFish Posted: April 20, 2012 at 09:25 PM (#4111920)
According to Wikipedia, Brad Emaus signed with the Laredo Lemurs, an independent team, two days ago. He had a 954 OPS in AAA last year. I wonder what that's about.
   30. Lassus Posted: April 20, 2012 at 09:28 PM (#4111923)

There have to be 10-20 stories like that every year, practically.
   31. Lassus Posted: April 20, 2012 at 09:34 PM (#4111926)
I disagree. Sergio Romo's beard is superior in every way to Brian Wilson's clown-shoes face.
   32. PreservedFish Posted: April 20, 2012 at 09:34 PM (#4111927)
Yeah, but the guy's 26 and apparently a decent hitter for a middle infielder. Surprising he didn't get a shot somewhere. Only a year ago the Mets thought it was worth $50,000 just to give him a tryout. Will he make $50,000 all year on the Lemurs?
   33. Lassus Posted: April 20, 2012 at 09:35 PM (#4111928)
Holy crap.

I hope Torres is sufficiently Pipped at this point.
   34. Gonna break my Rusty Kuntz and run . . . Arbitol Posted: April 20, 2012 at 09:35 PM (#4111929)
I dunno, but when Emaus managed to make contact with the ball, it was like he was swinging the bat with old-lady arms. The ball would bump, bump .... bump ... roll .... stop.

Small sample size and all that.
   35. AJM Posted: April 20, 2012 at 09:35 PM (#4111930)
I hope Torres disappears.
   36. PreservedFish Posted: April 20, 2012 at 09:39 PM (#4111931)
MLB.com gameday scout:

"Jeremy Affeldt may have to go after Daniel Murphy, whose OPS is .393 this season, with the two seam fastball rather than facing Ruben Tejada, whose OPS is .619"
   37. Lassus Posted: April 20, 2012 at 09:39 PM (#4111933)
Take him out, David.
   38. Gonna break my Rusty Kuntz and run . . . Arbitol Posted: April 20, 2012 at 09:41 PM (#4111934)

"Jeremy Affeldt may have to go after Daniel Murphy, whose OPS is .393 this season, with the two seam fastball rather than facing Ruben Tejada, whose OPS is .619"

And Murph goes down swinging.
   39. Lassus Posted: April 20, 2012 at 09:41 PM (#4111935)
Wow. I thought David was going to put that curve into orbit.
   40. Lassus Posted: April 20, 2012 at 09:42 PM (#4111936)
And instead, that.
   41. Lassus Posted: April 20, 2012 at 09:44 PM (#4111937)
That was unpleasant.
   42. Lassus Posted: April 20, 2012 at 09:46 PM (#4111938)
Jose Reyes, my starting fantasy SS, has been seriously sucking for Miami.
   43. PreservedFish Posted: April 20, 2012 at 09:54 PM (#4111941)
Back into your doghouse, Belt.
   44. AJM Posted: April 20, 2012 at 09:56 PM (#4111942)
Back into your doghouse, Belt.

I couldn't even root for him in that spot. Bochy sucks.
   45. PreservedFish Posted: April 20, 2012 at 09:56 PM (#4111943)
Pinch-hitting Duda against the righty, yes?
   46. Foghorn Leghorn Posted: April 20, 2012 at 09:59 PM (#4111944)
I am going to the Mets-Giants on Sunday. Anyone going to go to that, or want to grab a beer downtown before i take the train to New Brunswick? Tom Seaver bobblehead!
   47. AJM Posted: April 20, 2012 at 09:59 PM (#4111945)
Good start.
   48. Lassus Posted: April 20, 2012 at 10:01 PM (#4111946)
That's an odd way to treat your presumptive closer. Is Bochy trying to alienate his whole team?
   49. PreservedFish Posted: April 20, 2012 at 10:01 PM (#4111947)
Oh ho ho. Closer by committee?
   50. Foghorn Leghorn Posted: April 20, 2012 at 10:02 PM (#4111948)
I plan to go to the Mets-Marlins game on Tuesday night as well - timing will be tight. I want to purchase tix while at the park on Sunday.

Also, I need to ditch my suitcase on Sunday - where can I check a bag?
   51. PreservedFish Posted: April 20, 2012 at 10:02 PM (#4111949)
I mean, that's what I would do in Stratomatic.
   52. AJM Posted: April 20, 2012 at 10:12 PM (#4111952)
THOLE!
   53. Lassus Posted: April 20, 2012 at 10:12 PM (#4111953)
THOLE IS AWESOME
   54. PreservedFish Posted: April 20, 2012 at 10:13 PM (#4111954)
Thole!
   55. Why Bloody Valdespin? Posted: April 20, 2012 at 10:13 PM (#4111955)
Josh ####### Thole!
   56. Lassus Posted: April 20, 2012 at 10:13 PM (#4111956)
You're going to change pitchers for Ronny Cedeno?
   57. PreservedFish Posted: April 20, 2012 at 10:14 PM (#4111957)
It made a lot of sense to go with Lopez with 3 lefties coming up. I wonder how much #### Bochy will get for this.
   58. Lassus Posted: April 20, 2012 at 10:17 PM (#4111958)
Not a good play send.
   59. Foghorn Leghorn Posted: April 20, 2012 at 10:22 PM (#4111961)
MEh, if Belt or Sanchez bobbles (and they both nearly did) or goes for the DP, Neuwenhuis is safe.
   60. PreservedFish Posted: April 20, 2012 at 10:26 PM (#4111966)
Oh, goodness. Frank.
   61. PreservedFish Posted: April 20, 2012 at 10:27 PM (#4111968)
Yeah, it was a nice play by Belt.
   62. Lassus Posted: April 20, 2012 at 10:34 PM (#4111969)
Awful.
   63. Dan Posted: April 20, 2012 at 10:36 PM (#4111971)
Why in the ####### world would you IBB Nate Schierholz?
   64. Why Bloody Valdespin? Posted: April 20, 2012 at 10:42 PM (#4111974)
Let us go, Mets!
   65. PreservedFish Posted: April 20, 2012 at 10:42 PM (#4111975)
63 - I dunno, but that wasn't the problem. Hector Sanchez, as close to a truly anonymous player that the league has, got a hit.
   66. PreservedFish Posted: April 20, 2012 at 10:45 PM (#4111976)
Productive out. OK.
   67. Why Bloody Valdespin? Posted: April 20, 2012 at 10:46 PM (#4111977)
Bay, you get like a week of fan tolerance if you add to your solid game tonight with something other than a pop-up or strikeout.
   68. PreservedFish Posted: April 20, 2012 at 10:48 PM (#4111978)
Urf. Jason Bay. Urf.
   69. Lassus Posted: April 20, 2012 at 10:53 PM (#4111979)
####### brutal.
   70. Foghorn Leghorn Posted: April 20, 2012 at 10:53 PM (#4111980)
######' Bay. Couldn't put the ball in play. POS.
   71. Why Bloody Valdespin? Posted: April 20, 2012 at 10:53 PM (#4111981)
Gary got way too excited about that for a second.

Thought this one was going to be a win even when it 3-2 in the 9th. Oh well.
   72. Lassus Posted: April 20, 2012 at 10:54 PM (#4111982)
Yeah, that wasn't Bay's fault. He can't do everything.
   73. PreservedFish Posted: April 20, 2012 at 10:54 PM (#4111983)
Stupid Giants. Screw them.
   74. Rickey Fredonia Fudge Duckery Precious Twiddle Posted: April 20, 2012 at 11:46 PM (#4111997)
