1. GregD Posted: September 05, 2005 at 05:13 PM (#1598260)David Bell still sucks.
I miss you and your enormous schnozz, Andy.
Based on a small sample, it would seem Luke Scott is somebody who can't hit.
At least Qualls was brought in as a "LOOGY" today. Maybe Garner is starting a new trend.
Probably very similar to the Phillies (though I don't want to speak for Philly fan). 3 guys I have supreme confidence in and crap. I think we are 4th in bp era.
cormier = gallo
madsen = qualls
wheeler = UUU
Lidge = Wagner
It's a reach but only thing I can think of is Myer's line drive off his leg in the third.
They took out Petitte because Myers hit the ball hard off his ankle.
Tucker?!!!?!?!?!??
#$%#$^#$%@%@%#^!
Ah yes, as Dierker always says the most valuable player in Astros franchise history.
Actually they should totally bunt.
Rollins hit the ball harder than I have ever seen him hit in before. It was in the right field corner by the time Kata hit second, the RF got to it quickly and threw a rope home. It was in the infield (on the way to the catcher) before Kata touched third.
The rosters have expanded to 40 men. That means that there were at least 39 potential batters who were better choices than Endy Chavez.
Saddest of all, one of those better choices was Jose Offerman.
I don't think Chavez would've scored but... sheesh... you pinch run with Kata and hit with Chavez? Inconceivable! I thought they'd fall short of the playoffs before the season began, so their struggles in the standings aren't all that surprising, but must they shoot themselves in the foot (feet?) with bizarre managerial moves and ridiculous bench options? Couldn't the organization at least PRETEND to be marginally competant? That's all I'm asking for -- the mere illusion of intelligence. Apparently even that is too much to ask.
Yes.
Anywho, I'll take a 4-3 victory to continue what would become a 12-game winning streak over the Phillies ANY day. And I lived in Philly for 4 years in the 90s, BTW.
