It's almost a shame you guys couldn't break out a Magic game right here in the Chatter--I'd find it way more interesting than the product on the field...
I draw, place a Swamp, tap it to cast Dark Ritual and summon a Hypnotic Spectre.

Daniel Nava now has 1 more walk than Byrd has all season with the Sox and the same number of XBH's.

Nava is doing his best "2011, I told you Jed Lowrie should start!! Let ME GM!" impression.

Even by his modest standards Don Orsillo is not terribly focused on the game at the moment.

My first ever full-blown same-sex crush picked up M:TG from me. Looked and sounded like a stereotypical jock frat bro, but was secretly incredibly dorky. Every damn thing that guy did made me fall in love with him. I knew the whole damn time he wasn't into guys. It made no more sense then than it does now, but I might have spent a few more years wandering around confused if not for those few months.

I see a Magic card and think of him. I see a baseball cap for his favorite team (I don't see it that often; if he were a fan of a more popular team I probably would never have made the association) and think of him. I remember the last day I ever saw him, though it's almost half my life ago now. It happened to be a major holiday, and I tell myself that I wouldn't remember the date if it weren't, but I might be lying to myself. It'd be pretty easy to find him if I wanted to.

Those two strike calls on Salty were mighty generous considering Pestano has been laboring to find the zone so far.
   107. Jose Can Still Seabiscuit Posted: May 10, 2012 at 09:56 PM (#4128851)
Didn't Lowrie go about 0 for 37 then spontaneously combust at that point?
   108. Answer Guy Posted: May 10, 2012 at 09:56 PM (#4128852)
Did they ever put Dark Ritual on the Restricted list?
   109. Dale Sams Posted: May 10, 2012 at 09:57 PM (#4128853)
He absolutely did...but managed to still outplay Marlon Byrd.
   110. Jose Can Still Seabiscuit Posted: May 10, 2012 at 09:57 PM (#4128854)
Setting the bar kind of low there Dale. At the moment I'm outplaying Byrd.

Just saying that as a group we seem to have reached the "acceptance" stage of grief.
   113. Answer Guy Posted: May 10, 2012 at 09:58 PM (#4128857)
I feel dumb for not having piled on re: the Marlon Byrd trade.
   114. Dale Sams Posted: May 10, 2012 at 09:58 PM (#4128858)
I'm also pissed at management about Byrd at the plate. If they ordered the take sign on him in 3-1 counts, he'd have at least 5 walks i know about. But Valentine probably hates that idea.
   115. Dale Sams Posted: May 10, 2012 at 09:59 PM (#4128859)
Pedey is slugginh .511?? What a crapshow team we have that I don't know that.
   116. Jose Can Still Seabiscuit Posted: May 10, 2012 at 09:59 PM (#4128860)
If I were an Indian fan I'd be livid at Pestano facing Pedroia here.

If Pedey homers here I might literally #### myself.
   119. Mattbert Posted: May 10, 2012 at 10:01 PM (#4128863)
I wonder if Acta regrets lifting Joe Smith after 5 pitches now.

Great post, AG.

The Groove Line is powerful ####.

Chased ball four
   122. Dan Posted: May 10, 2012 at 10:03 PM (#4128868)
I really thought Byrd would be a solid pickup as a temporary fix in CF. But that was woefully wrong, and I wish they'd just ####### cut bait already.
   123. Dale Sams Posted: May 10, 2012 at 10:04 PM (#4128870)
I can't even find Daniel Nava on yahoo fantasy to draft...(annoyed)
   124. Dale Sams Posted: May 10, 2012 at 10:04 PM (#4128871)
And yes...of course Reddick and Lowrie are on my team.
   125. Dan Posted: May 10, 2012 at 10:05 PM (#4128872)
I can't believe Sweeney hasn't played in CF at all before tonight. He's clearly the best defensive OF on the team. It seems like Bobby pulls positions out of a hat for which spot Ross, McDonald, and Sweeney will play.

Did you like my post on Reddick and Lowrie in ST this afternoon Dale?

The card game I have played lately is Dominion, which is a lot of fun. It doesn't involve personal decks though.

Dominion is a lot of fun. There's a similar game called Ascension which was developed by Magic players, including the winner of the most recent Pro Tour.

Benji Gil Gamesh - Have you had a chance to listen to Storm Corrosion? It just came out on Tuesday and it's a collaboration between Steven Wilson and Mikael Akerfeldt. I'm still digesting it. It's very atmospheric.
   128. Dan Posted: May 10, 2012 at 10:07 PM (#4128876)
Our closer is now pitching when we have 4 run deficits, because we don't even have high leverage opportunities anymore.

Yes. That's it exactly.
   130. Benji Gil Gamesh Rises Posted: May 10, 2012 at 10:11 PM (#4128880)
Biff, I had completely forgotten about that! I'm smack in the middle of an insane period at work as well as moving (to a house with 5 acres, for which we had to have a barn and horse fencing built). I'd say I'll go d/l it now but cash is tight.

   131. Dale Sams Posted: May 10, 2012 at 10:12 PM (#4128881)
I agree with all parties on Lowrie and Reddick. Lowrie will get hurt, and we did get Sweeney. And it was dumb to trade them for relievers. IMO

   132. Benji Gil Gamesh Rises Posted: May 10, 2012 at 10:14 PM (#4128886)
BTW I haven't really had time to digest the Opeth that I d/l a month or so ago, either.
   133. Jose Can Still Seabiscuit Posted: May 10, 2012 at 10:17 PM (#4128888)
I think Snow White and the Huntsman looks good and I think I wouldn't think that if Charlize Theron looked like she did in "Monster."
   134. Dan Posted: May 10, 2012 at 10:19 PM (#4128890)
So... 11 men left on base tonight. That's becoming a fun trend.
   135. Dale Sams Posted: May 10, 2012 at 10:22 PM (#4128892)
Who are these idiots behind home plate
   136. Answer Guy Posted: May 10, 2012 at 10:23 PM (#4128893)
####### Celtics are blowing it too. I'm looking at years of imminent NBA oblivion, I'd prefer it not start right now.
