Middlebrooks continues to impress.

That ball was smoked.
   3. plink Posted: May 13, 2012 at 02:45 PM (#4130651)
I like that only Middlebrooks' HR is enough to get a comment or two.
   4. Darren Posted: May 13, 2012 at 02:48 PM (#4130653)
Bard looks really, really awful. Even the outs he's getting are on bad pitches. Get him through 5 or 6 if you can, then get him out. Valentine won't though.
   5. Jose Can Still Seabiscuit Posted: May 13, 2012 at 02:48 PM (#4130654)
Salty gets a little more on that bunt and it's an easy hit.
   6. Darren Posted: May 13, 2012 at 02:49 PM (#4130655)
You know, that doesn't even need to be a bunt. You're probably better off slapping at it a little, just to make sure it gets past the pitcher.
   7. Darren Posted: May 13, 2012 at 02:50 PM (#4130656)
It needs to either go foul or reach the OF grass.
   8. Jose Can Still Seabiscuit Posted: May 13, 2012 at 02:53 PM (#4130657)
That's just crap luck right there.
   9. Jose Can Still Seabiscuit Posted: May 13, 2012 at 02:55 PM (#4130660)
Are there any oudoors types here? Do you like this Charlie Moore guy? He seems like the biggest jackass possible but I'm not a fishing/hunting type so maybe he is entertaining.

Whoever booked these Activia ads with a bunch of ladies talking about yogurt really doesn't understand the MLB.com market.
   11. Jose Can Still Seabiscuit Posted: May 13, 2012 at 03:01 PM (#4130663)
Baseball chick is gonna be looking for you...
   12. Jose Can Still Seabiscuit Posted: May 13, 2012 at 03:07 PM (#4130665)
Bard has to be on a short leash here. He's been playing with fire all day.
   13. ellsbury my heart at wounded knee Posted: May 13, 2012 at 03:10 PM (#4130667)
I mean, these are the ads they are running, every inning - http://www.activia.us.com/promotions/real-women-real-stories/
   14. ellsbury my heart at wounded knee Posted: May 13, 2012 at 03:16 PM (#4130669)
I'm starting to get a little concerned about Bard's lack of strikeouts. At this point, he's had 4 in his last 2 games.
   15. Jose Can Still Seabiscuit Posted: May 13, 2012 at 03:16 PM (#4130670)
If Bard comes out for the seventh I'm not going to handle it well.

In fairness Bard has done well to get through without his best stuff.
   16. ellsbury my heart at wounded knee Posted: May 13, 2012 at 03:17 PM (#4130672)
Sorry, 4 in his last 3 games. He's got 10 BB to go with that. Not good.
   17. Jose Can Still Seabiscuit Posted: May 13, 2012 at 03:18 PM (#4130673)
Masterson has not been sharp today either.
   18. Jose Can Still Seabiscuit Posted: May 13, 2012 at 03:18 PM (#4130675)
Yeah, not going to have a lot of success with the Ks and bbs inverted like that.
   19. plink Posted: May 13, 2012 at 03:20 PM (#4130676)
That slide by Nava was great. I find it immensely satisfying to see a good slide.

And.... it leads to a run when Damon tries to barehand a line drive. Hooray!
   20. Jose Can Still Seabiscuit Posted: May 13, 2012 at 03:21 PM (#4130677)
Little break there. If Damon catches it it's probably a DP.
   21. ellsbury my heart at wounded knee Posted: May 13, 2012 at 03:26 PM (#4130679)
At 6-1, I think we may see Bard again....
   22. ellsbury my heart at wounded knee Posted: May 13, 2012 at 03:28 PM (#4130680)
I am happy to be wrong!
   23. ellsbury my heart at wounded knee Posted: May 13, 2012 at 03:40 PM (#4130687)
Nice to see Dan Wheeler giving up hits for some other team.
   24. Jose Can Still Seabiscuit Posted: May 13, 2012 at 03:42 PM (#4130689)
Based on a small sample size Santana looks like a guy not interested in being a catcher. He's bad at it and he seems lazy in his movements. If he was netter I'd probably describe him as "relaxed" but he does not seem good enough to be so casual.
   25. Joel W Posted: May 13, 2012 at 03:46 PM (#4130695)
I'm just worried he's hurting after the 7k/7BB game. It was exactly the sort of game where a player gets hurt.
   26. ellsbury my heart at wounded knee Posted: May 13, 2012 at 03:50 PM (#4130698)
Dan Wheeler is really taking one for the team here.
   27. plink Posted: May 13, 2012 at 04:03 PM (#4130704)
Who the heck is this?
   28. plink Posted: May 13, 2012 at 04:12 PM (#4130707)
Mauro Gomez, up for McDonald? From his AAA #s, might actually be able to hit. Better than Podsednik, I suppose.
