Morning all - looks like a stunning day in Boston today
   2. Jose Can Still Seabiscuit Posted: June 20, 2012 at 07:08 PM (#4162277)
Beautiful day, 96 the official game time temp
   3. Joe Bivens, Minor Genius Posted: June 20, 2012 at 07:10 PM (#4162278)
Long balls tonight. Both pitchers are susceptible.
   4. Joe Bivens, Minor Genius Posted: June 20, 2012 at 07:11 PM (#4162279)
Pedroia gets that.
   5. Joe Bivens, Minor Genius Posted: June 20, 2012 at 07:17 PM (#4162285)
The Red Sox will score at least 6 tonight.
   6. Dan Posted: June 20, 2012 at 07:18 PM (#4162286)
Is it me or were those two really slow glove to throwing hand exchanges on that double play? Both by Punto and by Aviles.
   7. Joe Bivens, Minor Genius Posted: June 20, 2012 at 07:24 PM (#4162291)
No one was running hard on that play. So, it wasn't you.
   8. Chip Posted: June 20, 2012 at 07:25 PM (#4162293)
On Pedroia, Orsillo says, "This is what he'll be dealing with the remainder of the year." Well wouldn't a DL stint when he was first hurt have helped aid the healing process and prevented future problems?
   9. Joe Bivens, Minor Genius Posted: June 20, 2012 at 07:27 PM (#4162294)
Geez, that isn't Orsillo's fault.
   10. Chip Posted: June 20, 2012 at 07:28 PM (#4162295)
Who said it was?
   11. Joe Bivens, Minor Genius Posted: June 20, 2012 at 07:29 PM (#4162300)
The voice in my head.
   12. Chip Posted: June 20, 2012 at 07:31 PM (#4162301)
My question is one I've yet to hear adequately answered.

Doubront couldn't have played that bunt more slowly.
   13. Phil Coorey. Posted: June 20, 2012 at 07:35 PM (#4162303)
That run should never have been scored - seems like the bunt was in slow motion
   14. Joe Bivens, Minor Genius Posted: June 20, 2012 at 07:35 PM (#4162304)
The voice in my head says it doesn't know the answer.
   15. Chip Posted: June 20, 2012 at 07:40 PM (#4162309)
They looked horrible against Nolasco first time through the order last time, too. I hope history repeats.
   16. Joe Bivens, Minor Genius Posted: June 20, 2012 at 07:41 PM (#4162311)
I get the feeling that Jenny doesn't completely understand many of the words she speaks, on air.
   17. Dan Posted: June 20, 2012 at 07:44 PM (#4162313)
They're subjecting that kid to sharing the booth with Don and Jerry? I feel bad for him. He might ask for a higher bonus after that.
   18. Phil Coorey. Posted: June 20, 2012 at 07:44 PM (#4162314)
Big Mike!
   19. Chip Posted: June 20, 2012 at 07:45 PM (#4162316)
Hey, they didn't even wait to go through the order once against the Rodrigo Lopez Memorial Junkballing Righty.
   20. Phil Coorey. Posted: June 20, 2012 at 07:46 PM (#4162318)
I think the ultimate would be one of us in the booth with those two ...
   21. Dan Posted: June 20, 2012 at 07:47 PM (#4162321)
Man I'm way behind right now. I just got the homer like 30 seconds ago.
   22. Jose Can Still Seabiscuit Posted: June 20, 2012 at 07:48 PM (#4162323)
I think it's Gordon Edes as PA man at Fenway tonight.
   23. Phil Coorey. Posted: June 20, 2012 at 07:48 PM (#4162324)

Man I'm way behind right now. I just got the homer like 30 seconds ago.

That cause of next def? I don't use that
   24. Dan Posted: June 20, 2012 at 07:49 PM (#4162325)
Cherington: alright, we'll give you $1.5M.

Marrero: I'm not signing for a penny less than $2M

Cherington: Fine, we'll give you $2.05M, but you're going to have to go on the air with Remy and Orsillo.

Marrero: Why are you cackling like that?
   25. Chip Posted: June 20, 2012 at 07:49 PM (#4162326)
That is indeed Edes on the PA.

BTW, I'm claiming credit for ending the Yankee win streak, since I was at the Stadium last night to see it firsthand.
   26. Dan Posted: June 20, 2012 at 07:50 PM (#4162328)
That cause of next def? I don't use that

I think my game had lagged out a bit a few times to push me back. I've restarted my stream between innings.
   27. Chip Posted: June 20, 2012 at 07:54 PM (#4162331)
Nice shutdown inning after the offense gave Felix the lead.
   28. Jose Can Still Seabiscuit Posted: June 20, 2012 at 07:54 PM (#4162333)
Jon Lester could learn from that
   29. Dan Posted: June 20, 2012 at 07:58 PM (#4162336)
Kinda surprised BV had enough confidence in Kalish to bat him 2nd tonight.
   30. Chip Posted: June 20, 2012 at 07:58 PM (#4162337)
Nice oppo stroke by Kalish.
   31. Phil Coorey. Posted: June 20, 2012 at 07:59 PM (#4162339)
Jesus Gonzo - guess you advanced the runners though.
   32. Chip Posted: June 20, 2012 at 07:59 PM (#4162340)
The Rally Killer tried to hit into the DP and failed.
   33. Dan Posted: June 20, 2012 at 07:59 PM (#4162341)
Adrian Gonzalez continues to suck though.
   34. Dan Posted: June 20, 2012 at 08:00 PM (#4162342)
Seriously, why the hell is Gonzalez trying to pull that pitch? He has been one of the best opposite field hitters in the game over the last 5 years, and all of a sudden he's trying to pull everything.
   35. Phil Coorey. Posted: June 20, 2012 at 08:02 PM (#4162344)
I'm at a loss with Gonzo - speechless
   36. Phil Coorey. Posted: June 20, 2012 at 08:03 PM (#4162347)
(!!!)
   37. Jose Can Still Seabiscuit Posted: June 20, 2012 at 08:03 PM (#4162348)
Pali had a great read and was running hard the while way
   38. Phil Coorey. Posted: June 20, 2012 at 08:04 PM (#4162349)
Thanks for the free baserunner btw Ozzie
   39. Dan Posted: June 20, 2012 at 08:04 PM (#4162350)
Adrian is the only one who isn't destroying Nolaso now.
   40. Chip Posted: June 20, 2012 at 08:04 PM (#4162351)
Ortiz broke Buck's arm with that slide.
   41. Phil Coorey. Posted: June 20, 2012 at 08:04 PM (#4162352)

Pali had a great read and was running hard the while way

Unlike the Cubs game
   42. Phil Coorey. Posted: June 20, 2012 at 08:07 PM (#4162355)

The Red Sox will score at least 6 tonight.

Hopefully the at least part is right
   43. Chip Posted: June 20, 2012 at 08:19 PM (#4162361)
This, on the other hand, is not a shutdown inning.

Why was Kalish so deep against a guy who can't hit?
   44. Phil Coorey. Posted: June 20, 2012 at 08:23 PM (#4162364)
That was rather annoying the 4th run there - time to get more than 6 now
   45. Chip Posted: June 20, 2012 at 08:23 PM (#4162365)
Aviles was out.
   46. Phil Coorey. Posted: June 20, 2012 at 08:24 PM (#4162366)
Clearly out
   47. Phil Coorey. Posted: June 20, 2012 at 08:25 PM (#4162369)
There's noting enjoyable about Punto playing nothing - I freaking hate looking a him play - shits me to tears
   48. Phil Coorey. Posted: June 20, 2012 at 08:27 PM (#4162372)
If Jenny Dell is better looking than the previous girl, then I am a calm Red Sox fan
   49. Chip Posted: June 20, 2012 at 08:31 PM (#4162374)
Her face was not why they hired her.
   50. Phil Coorey. Posted: June 20, 2012 at 08:32 PM (#4162377)
Good hustle there from Kalish
   51. Chip Posted: June 20, 2012 at 08:39 PM (#4162380)
Poor read by Nava.
   52. Chip Posted: June 20, 2012 at 08:39 PM (#4162382)
But good AB from Gonzalez, I guess.
   53. Chip Posted: June 20, 2012 at 08:41 PM (#4162383)
Papi!
   54. Phil Coorey. Posted: June 20, 2012 at 08:41 PM (#4162385)
Good god - we are witnessing something special from Ortiz
   55. Chip Posted: June 20, 2012 at 08:43 PM (#4162387)
He's 2004 postseason Ortiz right now.
   56. Chip Posted: June 20, 2012 at 09:07 PM (#4162406)
Daniel Nava, leadoff machine.
   57. Darren Posted: June 20, 2012 at 09:08 PM (#4162407)
Ortiz on a 43-HR pace. Nava hitting .327. There are some good things to this season.

   58. Darren Posted: June 20, 2012 at 09:09 PM (#4162408)
Nava, it appears, is not much of a power hitter. I think the upside for him is a .300/.370/.440 peak year.
   59. Chip Posted: June 20, 2012 at 09:12 PM (#4162411)
A chance to get you SLG back up above .400 Adrian.
   60. Chip Posted: June 20, 2012 at 09:13 PM (#4162413)
Or take a rare walk.
   61. Phil Coorey. Posted: June 20, 2012 at 09:13 PM (#4162414)
Least he is taking a walk - surely papi has to rub off on him soon
   62. Chip Posted: June 20, 2012 at 09:15 PM (#4162417)
Wow, Ortiz passed Rico for GS by a Red Sox hitter.
   63. Chip Posted: June 20, 2012 at 09:17 PM (#4162420)
So much for consecutive grand slams.
   64. Darren Posted: June 20, 2012 at 09:17 PM (#4162421)
This guy stinks!
   65. Chip Posted: June 20, 2012 at 09:18 PM (#4162423)
Looking for the hole in his bat.
   66. Darren Posted: June 20, 2012 at 09:33 PM (#4162432)
At least it's a baseball question. But a FIRST BALLOT Hall of Famer? Sheesh.
   67. Jay Seaver Posted: June 20, 2012 at 09:34 PM (#4162433)
Wow. I step out to buy some comics, and the Sox bring out the pummeling stick.
   68. Chip Posted: June 20, 2012 at 09:35 PM (#4162434)
Comparing him to Rice is also not helpful.
   69. Chip Posted: June 20, 2012 at 09:45 PM (#4162442)
Not an auspicious start for Mortensen.
   70. Darren Posted: June 20, 2012 at 09:59 PM (#4162448)
Well, he does have TEH FEAR!
   71. Darren Posted: June 20, 2012 at 10:01 PM (#4162449)
The giggles are here.
   72. Darren Posted: June 20, 2012 at 10:04 PM (#4162452)
I was just looking up Fausto Carmona so I could see when Ortiz hit that HR off him. Try searching on his name on Baseball Ref. It's unsettling what happens.
   73. Darren Posted: June 20, 2012 at 10:04 PM (#4162453)
What is the girl in this McD's commercial?
   74. Darren Posted: June 20, 2012 at 10:06 PM (#4162456)
So, 500 HR for Papi?
   75. Chip Posted: June 20, 2012 at 10:09 PM (#4162464)
Orioles swept by the Mets, so they'll gain a game on everyone in the division.
   76. Darren Posted: June 20, 2012 at 10:13 PM (#4162470)
Ask Jerry: Does Jenny Dell know anything about baseball? Like the number of bases? Do you know how to talk about baseball?
   77. Jay Seaver Posted: June 20, 2012 at 10:14 PM (#4162471)
Heh, Youk gets a couple of hits to increase his trade value, Middlebrooks gets a homer to remind trading partners why the Sox don't have a lot of leverage.
   78. Chip Posted: June 20, 2012 at 10:15 PM (#4162472)
Pretty sure the velocity off Middlebrooks' bat is higher than anyone else on the team. When he hits them they're just bullets.
   79. Darren Posted: June 20, 2012 at 10:16 PM (#4162473)
AskJerry: What the #### is so funny?
   80. Jay Seaver Posted: June 20, 2012 at 10:24 PM (#4162476)
Wooooooo fourth place woooooooooo!!!!

Hey, it's kind of exciting.
