   1. Russlan will never be fond of Jason Bay Posted: July 02, 2009 at 04:42 PM (#3240386)
So how long is this rain delay expected to be? And where is everybody?
   2. Bobby Bonilla's Annuity (Matt) Posted: July 02, 2009 at 05:10 PM (#3240422)
Epic fail by Pittsburgh here. Played two batters before another rain delay. And now the field is destroyed.
   3. Bobby Bonilla's Annuity (Matt) Posted: July 02, 2009 at 05:13 PM (#3240430)
By the way, the pitching matchups this weekend are very favorable.

Friday: Livan vs. Rodrigo Lopez
Saturday: Nieve vs. Moyer
Sunday: Johan vs. Blanton
   4. Bobby Bonilla's Annuity (Matt) Posted: July 02, 2009 at 05:39 PM (#3240468)
1:50 resume time, apparently.
   5. Russlan will never be fond of Jason Bay Posted: July 02, 2009 at 06:00 PM (#3240494)
The Mets fail with the bases loaded. Outstanding.
   6. Bobby Bonilla's Annuity (Matt) Posted: July 02, 2009 at 06:02 PM (#3240496)
This team is maddening.
   7. Bobby Bonilla's Annuity (Matt) Posted: July 02, 2009 at 06:04 PM (#3240497)
Hey, infield in works.
   8. Swoboda is freedom Posted: July 02, 2009 at 06:16 PM (#3240522)
By the way, the pitching matchups this weekend are very favorable.

Friday: Livan vs. Rodrigo Lopez

I am not so sure, at some point Livan is going to wake up and realize it is not 2003 and go back to sucking.
   9. Bob Koo Posted: July 02, 2009 at 06:18 PM (#3240526)
Redding sucks.
   10. villainx Posted: July 02, 2009 at 06:24 PM (#3240546)
uh, that HBP was not good.
   11. Bobby Bonilla's Annuity (Matt) Posted: July 02, 2009 at 06:25 PM (#3240549)
Yeah, this needs to be Tim Redding's final appearance as a Met.
   12. Bob Koo Posted: July 02, 2009 at 06:26 PM (#3240552)
Get Perez up here already. Redding is a joke.
   13. villainx Posted: July 02, 2009 at 06:27 PM (#3240553)
That cut off was?
   14. Bob Koo Posted: July 02, 2009 at 06:28 PM (#3240555)
And why does Tatis keep playing?
   15. Swoboda is freedom Posted: July 02, 2009 at 06:29 PM (#3240558)
Lets heare some more TV/radio talk about how Redding is good.
   16. villainx Posted: July 02, 2009 at 06:32 PM (#3240562)
Come on Wright.
   17. villainx Posted: July 02, 2009 at 06:34 PM (#3240565)
Let's plate this here Sheff.
   18. Russlan will never be fond of Jason Bay Posted: July 02, 2009 at 06:39 PM (#3240578)
Redding has to go. Niese can't be much worse and even if he is at least the experience could help him in the future.
   19. Bobby Bonilla's Annuity (Matt) Posted: July 02, 2009 at 06:40 PM (#3240580)
This is pathetic.
   20. Bobby Bonilla's Annuity (Matt) Posted: July 02, 2009 at 06:43 PM (#3240588)
Go away, Redding. Never come back.
   21. Bob Koo Posted: July 02, 2009 at 06:46 PM (#3240593)
Redding's ERA is now 6.99. But hey, he's pitched pretty well!
   22. Swoboda is freedom Posted: July 02, 2009 at 06:51 PM (#3240598)
Well, at least I can go back and do some work.
   23. Bobby Bonilla's Annuity (Matt) Posted: July 02, 2009 at 06:56 PM (#3240602)
Hey, it ain't over yet.
   24. Bob Koo Posted: July 02, 2009 at 06:59 PM (#3240610)
Santos now 0 for his last 18.
   25. Bobby Bonilla's Annuity (Matt) Posted: July 02, 2009 at 06:59 PM (#3240611)
This has 4-6-3 written all over it.
   26. Bobby Bonilla's Annuity (Matt) Posted: July 02, 2009 at 07:00 PM (#3240612)
Or not!
   27. Bobby Bonilla's Annuity (Matt) Posted: July 02, 2009 at 07:01 PM (#3240613)
I was one batter too late, I see.
   28. Banta Posted: July 02, 2009 at 07:05 PM (#3240623)
I see Tim Redding is exactly as good as I thought he was.
   29. Win one for Agrippa (haplo53) Posted: July 02, 2009 at 07:07 PM (#3240627)
Maybe the Mets can be on the other side of the "early multiple run lead gets blown" equation for once.
   30. Bobby Bonilla's Annuity (Matt) Posted: July 02, 2009 at 07:09 PM (#3240638)
A nation turns its lonely eyes to Elmer Dessens.
   31. Bobby Bonilla's Annuity (Matt) Posted: July 02, 2009 at 07:17 PM (#3240652)
Rally time.
   32. Swoboda is freedom Posted: July 02, 2009 at 07:18 PM (#3240655)
way to go sheff, keep it going Tatis
   33. Bob Koo Posted: July 02, 2009 at 07:23 PM (#3240663)
Tied game!
   34. Srul Itza Posted: July 02, 2009 at 07:29 PM (#3240678)
So, does anybody have a legitimate explanation for why Sheffield is having his best year at the plate since 2004? Is it the change in leagues? Is he healthy for a change? Is he doing better because he gets more days off?

Based on this year's work, he could probably play at least another year, unless he craters.
   35. Swoboda is freedom Posted: July 02, 2009 at 07:31 PM (#3240681)
Santos with a walk? Is that even legal?
   36. Srul Itza Posted: July 02, 2009 at 07:34 PM (#3240684)
And the Mets come all the way back from a 5-run deficit to take the lead. Admittedly, it's the Pirates, but given the tape-and-baling-wire nature of this jerry-rigged line-up, I'll take it.
   37. Banta Posted: July 02, 2009 at 07:36 PM (#3240688)
And now I'm in and settled to watch the rest of this one.

Looks like I missed most of the fun though.
   38. Banta Posted: July 02, 2009 at 07:48 PM (#3240712)
What the?! Tatis homerun!?

This is sorta awesome.
   39. Bobby Bonilla's Annuity (Matt) Posted: July 02, 2009 at 07:48 PM (#3240714)
I don't believe what I just saw.
   40. Bob Koo Posted: July 02, 2009 at 07:49 PM (#3240719)
I'm so glad Tatis played today!
   41. Bob Koo Posted: July 02, 2009 at 07:55 PM (#3240735)
Awesome, Stokes!
   42. Lassus Posted: July 02, 2009 at 07:58 PM (#3240744)
Holy crap, we're ahead!

I've been out running errands all day, and last I saw we were down 5-0 in the 4th.
   43. Bobby Bonilla's Annuity (Matt) Posted: July 02, 2009 at 07:59 PM (#3240746)
Brian Stokes: Man of the Match.
   44. GM Posted: July 02, 2009 at 08:01 PM (#3240750)
What a novel concept, scoring even after you’ve taken the lead, the extra runs act almost like insurance. The Mets might have something here.
   45. Banta Posted: July 02, 2009 at 08:04 PM (#3240759)
What the hell are Gary and Keith talking about now? Puns and dogs?
   46. Raskolnikov Posted: July 02, 2009 at 08:04 PM (#3240761)
Mets offense!
   47. Lassus Posted: July 02, 2009 at 08:07 PM (#3240764)
What the hell happened to Ron Darling, anyhow? Was he making Cohen and Keith look stupid?
   48. Banta Posted: July 02, 2009 at 08:10 PM (#3240768)
Pedro II is really, really good.
   49. Banta Posted: July 02, 2009 at 08:15 PM (#3240772)
Sorry, Pedro II. I guess I hexed you.
   50. Lassus Posted: July 02, 2009 at 08:18 PM (#3240776)
Eeeep. Not helping my fantasy team, Pedro.
   51. Lassus Posted: July 02, 2009 at 08:19 PM (#3240778)
Boy, Parnell's star has really fallen.

HA! Whoa, that was kind of funny. Almost doinked the corner of the bag.
   52. Banta Posted: July 02, 2009 at 08:26 PM (#3240788)
Tatis is having a banner day.
   53. Lassus Posted: July 02, 2009 at 08:31 PM (#3240796)
Er, Sean Green, what the-?
   54. Banta Posted: July 02, 2009 at 08:32 PM (#3240798)
Oof, not the way to start an inning, Green.
   55. Bobby Bonilla's Annuity (Matt) Posted: July 02, 2009 at 08:32 PM (#3240799)
Where is Frankie? This is a disaster.
   56. Bobby Bonilla's Annuity (Matt) Posted: July 02, 2009 at 08:32 PM (#3240800)
Oh wait. It's the eighth.
   57. Banta Posted: July 02, 2009 at 08:37 PM (#3240802)
I am not a fan of Sean Green. He reminds me of Heilman. Stupid, ugly Heilman.
   58. Banta Posted: July 02, 2009 at 08:39 PM (#3240806)
I've noticed that Cora doesn't make the greatest throws in the world.

Nice work, Donkeyface.
   59. Lassus Posted: July 02, 2009 at 08:40 PM (#3240809)
Scary!
   60. Win one for Agrippa (haplo53) Posted: July 02, 2009 at 08:41 PM (#3240813)
YES!
   61. Banta Posted: July 02, 2009 at 08:41 PM (#3240814)
Hooray!
   62. Lassus Posted: July 02, 2009 at 08:45 PM (#3240818)
I really wish I had no job and a lot of money so I could have gone to this game. The place looks so nice.
   63. Banta Posted: July 02, 2009 at 08:48 PM (#3240820)
Oh look, the blind squirrel hit a double.
   64. Lassus Posted: July 02, 2009 at 08:48 PM (#3240821)
Woohoo Santos breaks his slump!

It's our amazing 1-2 slugging catcher attack!
   65. Lassus Posted: July 02, 2009 at 08:49 PM (#3240823)
Pinhead.
   66. Banta Posted: July 02, 2009 at 08:49 PM (#3240824)
Santos: finding new ways to make outs.
   67. Banta Posted: July 02, 2009 at 08:58 PM (#3240837)
Damn it, I was really hoping for a 1-2-3 inning. My heart only has a few episodes left in it.
   68. Win one for Agrippa (haplo53) Posted: July 02, 2009 at 08:59 PM (#3240840)
Unbelievable.
   69. Bobby Bonilla's Annuity (Matt) Posted: July 02, 2009 at 08:59 PM (#3240842)
#### this.
   70. Lassus Posted: July 02, 2009 at 08:59 PM (#3240843)
Oh my head. That ain't right.
   71. Banta Posted: July 02, 2009 at 08:59 PM (#3240844)
I hate you, K-Rod.

I don't think the Mets will recover from blowing this one.
   72. Win one for Agrippa (haplo53) Posted: July 02, 2009 at 09:01 PM (#3240848)
K-Rod has been pretty hittable for two weeks or so.
   73. Banta Posted: July 02, 2009 at 09:02 PM (#3240849)
I really can't believe how this team finds different ways to hurt me. This hole has no bottom!
   74. Bob Koo Posted: July 02, 2009 at 09:03 PM (#3240850)
K-Rod's had major control problems lately.
   75. Bob Koo Posted: July 02, 2009 at 09:04 PM (#3240851)
Thanks for swinging at that 3-1 ball, Andy.
   76. Lassus Posted: July 02, 2009 at 09:04 PM (#3240852)
That was never Fernando's ball.
   77. Win one for Agrippa (haplo53) Posted: July 02, 2009 at 09:06 PM (#3240854)
Unbelievable.

Check that, thinking about it, it's completely believable.
   78. Lassus Posted: July 02, 2009 at 09:07 PM (#3240855)
Why are they chanting "air-ball"?

Stupid Pittsburgh.
   79. Banta Posted: July 02, 2009 at 09:08 PM (#3240857)
Well, at least this won't go into extras.
   80. Bob Koo Posted: July 02, 2009 at 09:08 PM (#3240858)
Sigh, K-Rod.
   81. Lassus Posted: July 02, 2009 at 09:08 PM (#3240859)
EGADS!

What the bloody hell.
   82. Win one for Agrippa (haplo53) Posted: July 02, 2009 at 09:09 PM (#3240861)
So when do we hear about some kind of injury K-Rod's been pitching with?
   83. Lassus Posted: July 02, 2009 at 09:10 PM (#3240862)
Parnell is going to turn into a REALLY long man if we don't lose here.
   84. Lassus Posted: July 02, 2009 at 09:10 PM (#3240863)
Good lord, Frankie ended up facing the outfield on that follow-through. That does not seem optimal.
   85. salvomania Posted: July 02, 2009 at 09:11 PM (#3240864)
According to GameDay the Mets have used 11 different players today in the 9 spot on the lineup card.
   86. Lassus Posted: July 02, 2009 at 09:12 PM (#3240866)
Hee!

Baseball is awesome.
   87. Banta Posted: July 02, 2009 at 09:12 PM (#3240867)
...holy crap.

I don't know how much more of this I can take!
   88. Bob Koo Posted: July 02, 2009 at 09:14 PM (#3240868)
Why prolong the agony? We're not winning this one.l
   89. Banta Posted: July 02, 2009 at 09:14 PM (#3240869)
The Mets need to score like, five runs this inning to make this game Parnell Proof.
   90. Raskolnikov Posted: July 02, 2009 at 09:14 PM (#3240871)
WTF!? I go away for a bit and this happens!
   91. Bob Koo Posted: July 02, 2009 at 09:16 PM (#3240874)
What an awful AB by Wright.
   92. Bob Koo Posted: July 02, 2009 at 09:17 PM (#3240875)
And Martinez had no chance there.
   93. Bobby Bonilla's Annuity (Matt) Posted: July 02, 2009 at 09:21 PM (#3240880)
Injure Tatis.
   94. Banta Posted: July 02, 2009 at 09:26 PM (#3240882)
CHURCH!!!!!!!
   95. Lassus Posted: July 02, 2009 at 09:26 PM (#3240883)
I CANNOT BELIEVE WHAT I JUST SAW
   96. Bob Koo Posted: July 02, 2009 at 09:26 PM (#3240884)
Yes Church!
   97. Lassus Posted: July 02, 2009 at 09:27 PM (#3240885)
Injure Tatis.

Really? Given what we have to replace him? REALLY?
   98. Banta Posted: July 02, 2009 at 09:29 PM (#3240887)
Parnell, if you can somehow save this, you'll have an automatic pass for like a month.
   99. Bob Koo Posted: July 02, 2009 at 09:29 PM (#3240888)
K-Rod??? Really???
   100. Lassus Posted: July 02, 2009 at 09:30 PM (#3240889)
OK, I WAS going to leave at 5:30, but now I have to wait and see what happens.

Ummmm....

Frankie? Really?

sigh
