Welcome all my friends to the show that never ends!

Who do we lose tonight?

Bets?
   2. Orange & Blue Velvet Posted: August 26, 2009 at 11:09 PM (#3306125)
Considering Pelfrey is next in 'death's design', i'm really fascinated by how he "bites it".
   3. Lassus Posted: August 26, 2009 at 11:10 PM (#3306126)
I'm starting Pelfrey on my fantasy team. What the ####. What's the worst that could happen?
   4. AJM Posted: August 26, 2009 at 11:11 PM (#3306127)
There are 20* people in the stands.

*Estimated
   5. Banta Posted: August 26, 2009 at 11:11 PM (#3306128)
Crappy's gonna be the last guy standing though, obviously.
   6. Banta Posted: August 26, 2009 at 11:12 PM (#3306130)
I barely even remember Murphy dropping that ball now. That was a different time.
   7. billyshears Posted: August 26, 2009 at 11:17 PM (#3306136)
I call Fernando Tatis/Standing in LF/Shot by a sniper in the injury pool.
   8. Banta Posted: August 26, 2009 at 11:19 PM (#3306139)
Pelfrey still has a chance to turn in a solid season if he pitches well the rest of the way.
   9. AJM Posted: August 26, 2009 at 11:20 PM (#3306142)
I'm guessing there will be a pop up at the mound with a 6 person collision.
   10. AJM Posted: August 26, 2009 at 11:21 PM (#3306143)
Pelfrey still has a chance to turn in a solid season if he pitches well the rest of the way.

I love that this is written about our current #1 starter.
   11. Banta Posted: August 26, 2009 at 11:22 PM (#3306146)
Pelfrey trying to break his hand.
   12. Banta Posted: August 26, 2009 at 11:24 PM (#3306148)
I know he isn't coming back, but what exactly ever happened to Maine? I've lost track of him with everyone else getting hurt.
   13. AJM Posted: August 26, 2009 at 11:26 PM (#3306153)
Maine was ready to come back and hurt himself in a rehab start, I haven't heard anything since.
   14. Banta Posted: August 26, 2009 at 11:31 PM (#3306161)
I remember that. Ollie and Maine made those rehab starts at about the same time. Is that really the last news on Maine? If so, that means he's probably missing a couple limbs.
   15. Banta Posted: August 26, 2009 at 11:39 PM (#3306175)
Good work, Tatis.

I'd like to take this opportunity to draw attention to how bad Brian Schneider has been this year. Sort of lost in the shuffle.
   16. Lassus Posted: August 26, 2009 at 11:39 PM (#3306177)
Woohoo! A run!

Oh, and the return of Banta.
   17. Banta Posted: August 26, 2009 at 11:41 PM (#3306179)
Yay, IPOR!

Livan already pitching for the Nationals? Jeez.
   18. Lassus Posted: August 26, 2009 at 11:41 PM (#3306180)
Hmmm.... I wonder what I chances are to make the playoffs if we win every single game from today to the end of the season?
   19. Banta Posted: August 26, 2009 at 11:42 PM (#3306181)
Pelrfrey. Nice work, SNY.

LANCE BROADWAY. FINALLY!

I think we should have him start a few games the rest of the way.
   20. Banta Posted: August 26, 2009 at 11:44 PM (#3306183)
93-69? That'd probably do it.
   21. Lassus Posted: August 26, 2009 at 11:48 PM (#3306188)
Pelrfrey. Nice work, SNY.

They injured his name!
   22. Lassus Posted: August 26, 2009 at 11:49 PM (#3306191)
I support whatever aggressively risky defensive moves we partake in for the rest of the year. Not much to lose, and we might gain some confidence.
   23. billyshears Posted: August 26, 2009 at 11:52 PM (#3306193)
Dear Mets,

I think you have a shot at the 3rd pick in the draft. Also, I have Josh Johnson on my fantasy team. Just saying.

Thanks,

billyshears

############# CAUGHT STEALING AGAIN

I am really really REALLY getting tired of this run-at-will concept.

I'm at work. Over the last month, what is our attempts/success rate? Can someone check?
   25. AJM Posted: August 27, 2009 at 12:00 AM (#3306208)
Before tonight

August: 13 SB, 11 CS
   26. Lassus Posted: August 27, 2009 at 12:03 AM (#3306212)
That sounds bad. For the year?
   27. Lassus Posted: August 27, 2009 at 12:06 AM (#3306216)
Oh good, rain. That'll help Pelfrey's chance for a win.
   28. AJM Posted: August 27, 2009 at 12:06 AM (#3306217)
April-July

89 and 28
   29. AJM Posted: August 27, 2009 at 12:07 AM (#3306219)
There were 13 CS in May, but they also had 38 SB.
   30. Lassus Posted: August 27, 2009 at 12:09 AM (#3306221)
Frak.
   31. Banta Posted: August 27, 2009 at 12:11 AM (#3306225)
Pelrfrey sucks.
   32. AJM Posted: August 27, 2009 at 12:15 AM (#3306229)
Where did that miss?
   33. Lassus Posted: August 27, 2009 at 12:15 AM (#3306230)
Oof.

I'm not seeing 5 innings from Pelf tonight.
   34. Banta Posted: August 27, 2009 at 12:16 AM (#3306231)
Josh Johnson, grand slam time.
   35. Banta Posted: August 27, 2009 at 12:17 AM (#3306232)
That seemed worse than it was.
   36. AJM Posted: August 27, 2009 at 12:29 AM (#3306245)
Heh.
   37. Banta Posted: August 27, 2009 at 12:44 AM (#3306268)
Pelrfrey sucks.
   38. Lassus Posted: August 27, 2009 at 12:45 AM (#3306269)
son of a #####
   39. Lassus Posted: August 27, 2009 at 12:46 AM (#3306271)
I approve of the new spelling of Pelrfrey's name until the end of the year.
   40. Banta Posted: August 27, 2009 at 12:55 AM (#3306287)
Good work, Sullivan.
   41. AJM Posted: August 27, 2009 at 01:00 AM (#3306295)
These chatters have been pretty quiet for the last few weeks. Brings back memories of Black Friday.

DAMN YOU METS!
   42. Banta Posted: August 27, 2009 at 01:07 AM (#3306297)
There's really nothing to say until the next player gets hurt.
   43. AJM Posted: August 27, 2009 at 01:13 AM (#3306311)
Ross tried to kill Dessens there.
   44. Orange & Blue Velvet Posted: August 27, 2009 at 01:17 AM (#3306314)
Why did Manuel push Pelfrey to 118 pitches in a start where he's had multiple stressful innings? Is he trying to put Pelf on the DL?
   45. Lassus Posted: August 27, 2009 at 01:32 AM (#3306332)
Ross tried to kill Dessens there.

Not hard enough, apparently.
   46. Orange & Blue Velvet Posted: August 27, 2009 at 01:47 AM (#3306354)
It's not the Marlins pen that's so good, Gary. It's the Mets hitting that so bad.
