These guys stink.

The worst part of all of this is that there's basically no reason to watch the rest of the season. The team:

isn't likable,
isn't in a race,
and doesn't have any interesting "kids" to watch for next year

Go Bears!
   6. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: August 26, 2009 at 11:48 PM (#3306189)
Arthur hit the nail on the head. There's still over a month of games, but why watch? They are nine out, they are the most unlikeable Cubs team since 2004, and the team is full of crusty vets and AAAA players. The Dodgers series really did me in, but last night was it. Lou bringing in Heilman with the bases loaded, after how notoriously bad he's been in such situations this year, shows that no one is learning anything from this.

Livan with 2 Ks in the first? Wow.

I stand by my prediction of 2 runs allowed in 6 innings.

Has Bradley always been this worthless as a lefty or are we just lucky?
   9. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: August 27, 2009 at 12:41 AM (#3306266)
Joel Pinerio has thrown 15 pitches through TWO innings.

I stand by my prediction of 2 runs allowed in 6 innings.

What do I win?

What do I win?

A partial season ticket package for the rest of the season.

Ha, Aaron Miles.
   13. retro-shiite Posted: August 27, 2009 at 02:07 AM (#3306363)
A pair of those is a pair too many already.

Why has no one talked about Adam Dunn hitting in the .280s this late in the season? I knew he was having his standard underrated season, but I didn't realize he was also posting a good batting average, too.
   15. Andere Richtingen Posted: August 27, 2009 at 02:36 AM (#3306369)
Speaking of BA, Soriano back down to .240.
   16. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: August 27, 2009 at 02:39 AM (#3306370)
Cards win because the Astros can't hit.
   17. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: August 27, 2009 at 03:12 AM (#3306381)
I wonder if Marmol is going to become one of those guys we look back on years from now and wonder what happened.

Koyie Hill, KOYIE HILL!!!, is batting .003 less than Alfonso Soriano (.237 vs. .240).
