The Redskins are not filling me with confidence thus far. Let's go Nats!
   2. Bourbon Samurai in Asia Posted: August 09, 2012 at 07:28 PM (#4204809)
That looked decent. Griffin has an arm at least.
   3. Bourbon Samurai in Asia Posted: August 09, 2012 at 07:34 PM (#4204812)
Ok good.
   4. fra paolo Posted: August 09, 2012 at 07:51 PM (#4204825)
So even Nationals' game chatters get filled with Redskins' talk? Oh, the irony!
   5. Bourbon Samurai in Asia Posted: August 09, 2012 at 07:56 PM (#4204828)
It is a fact of life. Also, the Nats game hasn't actually started yet.
   6. fra paolo Posted: August 09, 2012 at 08:01 PM (#4204831)
You could talk about Davey Johnson's pre-game comments on WJFK. It sounds like he took Harper to the woodshed.
   7. Bourbon Samurai in Asia Posted: August 09, 2012 at 08:04 PM (#4204835)
It would probably be good for Harper to spend a month in AAA, with Bernardina playing ok. I doubt it will happen though.
   8. fra paolo Posted: August 09, 2012 at 08:06 PM (#4204836)
Or one could play Nats' trivia: who was the starting CF at the first game in RFK?
   9. fra paolo Posted: August 09, 2012 at 08:07 PM (#4204838)
Whoops, first pitch just as I hit 'submit'.
   10. Joey B.: posting for the kids of northeast Ohio Posted: August 09, 2012 at 08:09 PM (#4204839)
I dont care that this is their best pitcher now, I want the sweep.

I demand that it be a hilarious walkoff!
   12. Bourbon Samurai in Asia Posted: August 09, 2012 at 08:14 PM (#4204842)
Rex Grossman picking up right where he left off. He'd fit in on the Astros.
   13. fra paolo Posted: August 09, 2012 at 08:32 PM (#4204856)
I cannot believe Justin Maxwell is hitting cleanup for any MLB team.

Especially as Wallace is a LHB
   15. fra paolo Posted: August 09, 2012 at 08:43 PM (#4204864)
So, does one say 'youston' or 'hueston'? I say it the latter way.
   16. Bourbon Samurai in Asia Posted: August 09, 2012 at 08:46 PM (#4204866)
me as well.
   17. fra paolo Posted: August 09, 2012 at 08:56 PM (#4204869)
Charlie Slowes, on the radio, is a 'youston' man. Not sure about Jageler.
   18. Bourbon Samurai in Asia Posted: August 09, 2012 at 09:05 PM (#4204873)
laroche is baller
   19. fra paolo Posted: August 09, 2012 at 09:24 PM (#4204883)
Jageler resolutely avoids pronouncing the host city's name.
   20. Joey B.: posting for the kids of northeast Ohio Posted: August 09, 2012 at 09:43 PM (#4204901)
Tell me a Storey.
   21. Bourbon Samurai in Asia Posted: August 09, 2012 at 09:47 PM (#4204906)

   23. Bourbon Samurai in Asia Posted: August 09, 2012 at 10:05 PM (#4204914)
oooh kurt suzuki got a hit. novel!
   24. fra paolo Posted: August 09, 2012 at 10:12 PM (#4204919)
F-Rod!

(No, not that one.)
   25. Esoteric Posted: August 09, 2012 at 10:27 PM (#4204932)
On the one hand, Jordan Zimmermann was absolutely cruising (he could've ended the night with a CG or 14Ks or whereabouts), with only 87 pitches, so why remove him? On the other hand, if Strasburg is really going to get shut down, playing safe with the team's True Ace isn't a bad idea, I guess.
   26. Joey B.: posting for the kids of northeast Ohio Posted: August 09, 2012 at 10:29 PM (#4204937)
The Beast!!!
   27. Esoteric Posted: August 09, 2012 at 10:29 PM (#4204938)
So THAT'S where Mike Morse's home-run stroke went! It was hidden in Houston!
   28. fra paolo Posted: August 09, 2012 at 10:29 PM (#4204939)
Morse!

(I was just reading about Inspector Morse.)
   29. Esoteric Posted: August 09, 2012 at 10:32 PM (#4204942)
Here's the thing about Kurt Suzuki: he's been playing the entire season with a busted hand. It isn't going to heal until the offseason. He's never going to be an offensive powerhouse, but it's unfair to judge his hitting in full until next year. Which of course doesn't do #### to help us now, but it deserved to be pointed out.
   30. fra paolo Posted: August 09, 2012 at 10:49 PM (#4204959)
Zounds! — Jageler is playing around with getting a 'righty to face the righty instead of Wright'.
   31. Joey B.: posting for the kids of northeast Ohio Posted: August 09, 2012 at 10:50 PM (#4204963)
I'm a greedy pig; let's drive in a bunch more runs right here.
   32. fra paolo Posted: August 09, 2012 at 10:52 PM (#4204964)
Is this Fick any relation to the ex-Tiger Fick?
   33. fra paolo Posted: August 09, 2012 at 11:04 PM (#4204973)
Well, not only a sweep, but a shut-out to boot. And Charlie Slowes uses exactly my phrase!
   34. Joey B.: posting for the kids of northeast Ohio Posted: August 09, 2012 at 11:05 PM (#4204974)
26 over .500!!
   35. Bourbon Samurai in Asia Posted: August 09, 2012 at 11:07 PM (#4204976)
And a Cesar Izturis run to boot!
   36. TerpNats Posted: August 10, 2012 at 07:53 AM (#4205060)
Is this Fick any relation to the ex-Tiger Fick?
And ex-Nat Fick? Yes; I think he's his nephew.

Anyway, goodbye to Houston. Who knows when the Nats will visit again? (The interleague schedule maker, that's who.)
