Man, this is kind of a nightmare inning for Vogelsong. A ton of freak fielding f*ckups for the Giants, not really his fault.

I mean, screw him because he's the opponent, but I feel for him too.

Maybe the Giants pitching staff isn't really as good as their basic numbers make them seem. They play a ton of games in a crapbag division and in these huge west coast pitchers' parks.

The fun thing about this game is that we're singlehandedly dropping Vogelsong behind Jordan Zimmermann in the pitcher ERA and WAR sweepstakes.

Seriously, though? This is largely not his doing. But still, as a Nats fan who wants to tack it onto the Braves, I have to laugh.

UPDATE: They're pulling Vogelsong. Must admit that I do like the way the Giants home crowd gave him a nice round of applause even though he's coming out in the 3rd inning after giving up eight runs. They seem to understand how hilariously freakish this was.

Anything can happen, and the Nats could certainly still lose (after the Atlanta game, *nothing* is guaranteed), but man...this is not how I envisioned the Vogelsong/Gonzalez matchup turning out.

Good thing we're not playing against Atlanta's offense here.

I haven't seen a lot of Giants games this year, but the more I see them, the more they look like a fraudulent contender to me.
