The next three games will definitely test the Nats' mettle. This is probably the toughest road series we have left in the regular season.

DIE BRAVES DIE.

Braves lose 4-1. Let's gain a game tonight boys!

If we're going to gain a game, it's gonna be against the toughest that the Giants can throw against us.
   5. Joey B.: posting for the kids of northeast Ohio Posted: August 13, 2012 at 10:13 PM (#4207663)
Yeah, it's going to be tough for sure. Hopefully I can manage to stay awake!

Braves only drew 18,250 tonight. Seems low for a contender.

Another umpire with a bizarre, floating strike zone. What else is new.

Maybe the weather sucked in Ratlanta or something.

A lot of lucky runs for the Nats here, but lordy I'll take 'em.

Let's make this a huge inning.

Have you been to Atlanta, Joey? The weather always sucks there.

Man, this is kind of a nightmare inning for Vogelsong. A ton of freak fielding f*ckups for the Giants, not really his fault.

I mean, screw him because he's the opponent, but I feel for him too.
   14. Depressoteric Posted: August 13, 2012 at 11:09 PM (#4207709)
AHAHAHAH AND AGAIN! This is really getting ridiculous for poor Vogelsong.
   15. Joey B.: posting for the kids of northeast Ohio Posted: August 13, 2012 at 11:12 PM (#4207710)
Maybe the Giants pitching staff isn't really as good as their basic numbers make them seem. They play a ton of games in a crapbag division and in these huge west coast pitchers' parks.
   16. Depressoteric Posted: August 13, 2012 at 11:15 PM (#4207714)
The fun thing about this game is that we're singlehandedly dropping Vogelsong behind Jordan Zimmermann in the pitcher ERA and WAR sweepstakes.

Seriously, though? This is largely not his doing. But still, as a Nats fan who wants to tack it onto the Braves, I have to laugh.

UPDATE: They're pulling Vogelsong. Must admit that I do like the way the Giants home crowd gave him a nice round of applause even though he's coming out in the 3rd inning after giving up eight runs. They seem to understand how hilariously freakish this was.

Anything can happen, and the Nats could certainly still lose (after the Atlanta game, *nothing* is guaranteed), but man...this is not how I envisioned the Vogelsong/Gonzalez matchup turning out.

Good thing we're not playing against Atlanta's offense here.

I haven't seen a lot of Giants games this year, but the more I see them, the more they look like a fraudulent contender to me.

This has gone well.
   20. Depressoteric Posted: August 13, 2012 at 11:34 PM (#4207724)
This is now going better than "well."
   21. Depressoteric Posted: August 13, 2012 at 11:35 PM (#4207725)
Okay, now this is getting RIDICULOUS, by which I mean FANFUCKINGTASTIC.
   22. Depressoteric Posted: August 13, 2012 at 11:57 PM (#4207742)
WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE?!?!
   23. Joey B.: posting for the kids of northeast Ohio Posted: August 14, 2012 at 12:00 AM (#4207745)
So what's the largest margin of victory for the Nats since coming to DC?
