Gio against some guy named Tyler Cloyd; I like our chances in this one a lot.

Why, oh why did Charlie Slowes have to bring up Tony Conigliaro's name in connection with Bryce Harper? It's like mentioning the title of the Scottish Play.

Were they as good as the Whiffenpoofs?

   7. fra paolo Posted: September 27, 2012 at 07:33 PM (#4247632)
There are some odd names in that Phillies lineup —'Ruf', 'Kratz' and 'Cloyd'. They all look like misspellings.
   8. Joey B. Posted: September 27, 2012 at 07:35 PM (#4247633)
And all that was after two quick outs. That sucked, but it's still early.

Time to get your head in the game Gio, it's critical that you keep us in this.

Nationals feast on productive outs.

Cloyd's shown good control until this inning.
   19. Joey B. Posted: September 27, 2012 at 08:39 PM (#4247667)
What an absolute horseshit call that was right there.
   20. Joey B. Posted: September 27, 2012 at 08:45 PM (#4247672)

I'm picking up the Philly station while waiting for the wife to come out of work. Cool, cool, cool.

Thing wide open right here...
   26. Joey B. Posted: September 27, 2012 at 09:44 PM (#4247704)
Fun factoid: after today, Ryan Howard only has three hundred million dollars left to go on his contract (number approximate).

Back on GameDay Audio at home.

I've had some fun DXing experiences in the car here in Ontario. I've picked up stations in St Louis, Pittsburgh, Chicago, New York, Cleveland and Philadelphia at night before. WJR comes in loud and clear from Detroit all day, most days. If only they still carried the Tigers' games!

Tonight I got WAKS from Louisville before I happened on WPHT 1210 AM.
   28. fra paolo Posted: September 27, 2012 at 09:57 PM (#4247712)
That should be WHAS, not WAKS.
   29. fra paolo Posted: September 27, 2012 at 09:59 PM (#4247716)
This sounds like a wide strike zone.

My unsolicited advice to Ozzie Guillen: I would NOT buy a new home in South Florida within the next few days if I were you.

Today's technology truly is incredible, how you can listen to almost anything from almost anywhere now.
   34. fra paolo Posted: September 27, 2012 at 10:05 PM (#4247723)
Not saying it's likely, but I wouldn't be surprised if Guillen ended up in Detroit for next season.
   35. fra paolo Posted: September 27, 2012 at 10:09 PM (#4247725)
Hey, Manny Acta lives in Florida. Maybe he can get a job in Miami!
   36. Joey B. Posted: September 27, 2012 at 10:13 PM (#4247727)
He couldn't do much worse. Could he?
   37. Joey B. Posted: September 27, 2012 at 10:21 PM (#4247732)
And then the numbers were 6 for the league and just 3 for the division!!

And that win ties the franchise record for most wins in a season, along with the '79 Expos.
   38. fra paolo Posted: September 27, 2012 at 10:23 PM (#4247734)
95 wins. I honestly did not expect that many for this team this season.
   39. Joey B. Posted: September 27, 2012 at 10:27 PM (#4247738)
I'm not sure that anyone did. It's pretty amazing.
