Encarnaciowned!
   402. strong silence Posted: October 14, 2006 at 03:48 AM (#2211024)
This is on track for 7 games. My prediction that the Mets will win in 7 appears realistic.
   403. good_ol_gil Posted: October 14, 2006 at 03:48 AM (#2211025)
Get Wagner out of there now, might as well conserve him for the rest of the series.
   404. Raskolnikov Posted: October 14, 2006 at 03:48 AM (#2211026)
Hmm, Willie might want to start thinking about saving Wags for another day.
   405. Karl from NY Posted: October 14, 2006 at 03:48 AM (#2211027)
How long till Wagner gets run out of town on the Armando Benitez train?
   406. Banta Posted: October 14, 2006 at 03:49 AM (#2211028)
Great inning, Wagner. Just what we needed, you redneck piece of ####.
   407. Chris Dial Posted: October 14, 2006 at 03:49 AM (#2211030)
Joe Buck is a dolt.
   408. Joshemy Posted: October 14, 2006 at 03:49 AM (#2211031)
I can't believe this. #### you Wagner and your non-save situation suckiness.
   409. Flynn Posted: October 14, 2006 at 03:49 AM (#2211033)
Billy Wagner is festering ass tonight. Ugh.
   410. Russlan is fond of Dillon Gee Posted: October 14, 2006 at 03:50 AM (#2211035)
Billy doesn't like these non-save situation does he.
   411. Buddha Posted: October 14, 2006 at 03:51 AM (#2211037)
Todd Jones > Billy Wagner
   412. Repoz Posted: October 14, 2006 at 03:52 AM (#2211038)
The only good thing I have to say about tonight's Mets game...is that Art Howe was quite animated on FAN yesterday.
   413. strong silence Posted: October 14, 2006 at 03:52 AM (#2211039)
Mets fans are great. They are passionate about baseball. Are they more passionate about their team than the Yankee fans about their team? I don’t know.

Craig have you been drinking?
   414. Raskolnikov Posted: October 14, 2006 at 03:53 AM (#2211041)
Yikes, we're going to need either Trax or Perez to deliver a win for us in St. L.
   415. strong silence Posted: October 14, 2006 at 03:54 AM (#2211044)
Todd Jones > Eddie Guardado > Billy Wagner
   416. Banta Posted: October 14, 2006 at 03:54 AM (#2211045)
Now, we really need a rainout.
   417. greenback calls it soccer Posted: October 14, 2006 at 03:54 AM (#2211046)
Wow, does Wright have some sort of mental block? He could've rolled the ball over to first to beat Molina.
   418. CraigK Posted: October 14, 2006 at 03:55 AM (#2211047)
Craig have you been drinking?

Uhh, I'm 19 and beer makes me gag.

So, uh, no.
   419. Banta Posted: October 14, 2006 at 03:55 AM (#2211048)
Wright knew he was probably gonna throw the ball away. He likes to do that.
   420. Repoz Posted: October 14, 2006 at 03:56 AM (#2211049)
I want to feel Joe Buck's throat with a slightly used garrot.
   421. strong silence Posted: October 14, 2006 at 03:56 AM (#2211051)
Delgadon't (make me feel so blue)
   422. Raskolnikov Posted: October 14, 2006 at 03:57 AM (#2211052)
Two BBs and a blast. Please.
   423. Zac Schmitt Posted: October 14, 2006 at 03:57 AM (#2211053)
Craig have you been drinking?

Uhh, I'm 19 and beer makes me gag.

it's funny craig, because you're coming off as seeming distinctly like the jerkoff who gets drunk at a bar and doesnt realize what an ass he's being.
   424. strong silence Posted: October 14, 2006 at 03:58 AM (#2211054)
I like Delgado. I'll bet he reads Howard Zinn and has friends who are Quakers.
   425. strong silence Posted: October 14, 2006 at 03:59 AM (#2211055)
zac. He comes across as funny to me. Are you in a bad mood?
   426. Banta Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:00 AM (#2211056)
I guess I can't get mad at Delgado there.
   427. RoyalsRetro (AG#1F) Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:00 AM (#2211057)
What is this year's nominee for "YOU'RE RISKING A PATIENT'S LIFE/HER FATHER IS THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY?"
   428. rb's team is hopeful for the new year! Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:01 AM (#2211058)
The Ferrum flamethrower didn't fare so well.
   429. strong silence Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:01 AM (#2211059)
Ghost, I hope Bavasi is watching this game and series and throwing up every night while crying: "God, make it stop. I'll never do that again."
   430. greenback calls it soccer Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:01 AM (#2211060)
Where the #### was that Tyler Johnson during the regular season?
   431. Zac Schmitt Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:01 AM (#2211061)
if you really think saying things like "Encarnaciowned!" is funny...well, there's nothing i can really say to you.
   432. RoyalsRetro (AG#1F) Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:02 AM (#2211063)
Scott Rolen - defensive replacement. Whooda thunk it?
   433. Urban Faber Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:02 AM (#2211064)
Helluva play.
   434. Zac Schmitt Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:02 AM (#2211065)
by the way, i'm not a mets fan, so it seems to me,as a casual observer, obnoxious as hell.
   435. greenback calls it soccer Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:03 AM (#2211066)
Way to make a statement, Other Scottie.
   436. strong silence Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:03 AM (#2211067)
I think this is a series. I do think so. I'm glad, because I'm a baseball fan, that this series is competitive.
   437. Joshemy Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:03 AM (#2211068)
Scott Rolen is ridiculously great on defense.
   438. Russlan is fond of Dillon Gee Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:03 AM (#2211069)
if you really think saying things like "Encarnaciowned!" is funny...well, there's nothing i can really say to you.

You are just mad. How many DELGADITs were there etc earlier in the game?
   439. Zac Schmitt Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:05 AM (#2211070)
How many DELGADITs were there etc earlier in the game?

i wouldn't know, because i wasn't here earlier, but had i been, i would've thought those were obnoxious, too.
   440. Banta Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:05 AM (#2211071)
All I have to say is Trachsel better pitch a ####### masterpiece tomorrow.
   441. RoyalsRetro (AG#1F) Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:05 AM (#2211072)
Ken Rosenthal is approximately two feet tall.
   442. greenback calls it soccer Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:06 AM (#2211073)
Scott Rolen - defensive replacement. Whooda thunk it?

Unfortunately not Phil Garner during the ASG.
   443. Chris Dial Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:06 AM (#2211074)
Sorry, Russlan, Encarnacioned isn't a common one. Delgadit is an ESPN-ism. Not the same.

But no, it wasn't obnoxious - it was a someone celebrating his team.
   444. strong silence Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:06 AM (#2211075)
Stl has a bench, NY lacks pitching depth, Pujols is heating up, Delgado is hot. This will be a fun series.
   445. RoyalsRetro (AG#1F) Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:06 AM (#2211076)
SCOTT SPEIZIO - COUNT THE RING!!!
   446. strong silence Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:07 AM (#2211077)
I hope Reyes keeps smoking the ball. He reminds me of Ichiro! in 2001.
   447. Raskolnikov Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:07 AM (#2211078)
Well, total momentum shift with this game. We'll need a clutch pitching performance from Trax tomorrow.
   448. Zac Schmitt Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:09 AM (#2211080)
But no, it wasn't obnoxious - it was a someone celebrating his team.

"yay!" works just as well withought being stupid, but then again i hate puns.
   449. Banta Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:09 AM (#2211081)
I really don't like this series going forward now... Trachsel, Perez, and then Glavine on short rest? The bullpen's been exhausted and for the most part, not that effective anyway? Ack.
   450. strong silence Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:09 AM (#2211082)
Doesn't need to be clutch, Raskolnikov. The Mets are better. They'll win in 7 games. Or 8 games games, if they had been playing under the old format.
   451. Chris Dial Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:09 AM (#2211083)
If Green catches that - we win.
   452. rb's team is hopeful for the new year! Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:09 AM (#2211084)
I can't imagine anyone actually cheers for spezio, what with that ridiculous shock of red hair on his chin.
   453. strong silence Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:12 AM (#2211085)
Ichiro would have caught that ball.
   454. Raskolnikov Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:13 AM (#2211086)
We need Trax to go long tomorrow. Mota is probably out. Wagner should be as well. We'll probably need to go to the Kool-Aid well once more. And I think Heilman will close tomorrow if that's what it comes down to. So yeah, Trax needs to be clutch tomorrow.
   455. strong silence Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:16 AM (#2211092)
Mets have too much hitting Raskolnikov. It was a surprise (to me) that the Cards won a high scoring game. I think the Mets can win even when their SP's stink.
   456. Howie Menckel Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:20 AM (#2211094)
Baseball has endless stats, but I'll bet no one thinks of this one:
"Record of teams with home-field advantage who win Game 1 and take a multi-run lead in Game 2, but lose Game 2."

I'd be curious.
Seems on its face to be a gut-wrencher, but maybe it usually doesn't matter. I don't know.
   457. AJMcCringleberry Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:25 AM (#2211097)
This game sucked. A real right fielder would've caught that ball that Spiezio hit. (Spiezio seems to be very good at hitting 330 foot flyballs.)

Ah well, I expected to lose the Carpenter start anyway, we'll get the win tomorrow.
   458. Jorge Luis Bourjos (Walewander) Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:25 AM (#2211099)
How long does Tracshel usually last these days?
   459. Banta Posted: October 14, 2006 at 04:27 AM (#2211101)
How long does Tracshel usually last these days?

He's a classic 5 and 2/3 innings guy. And he needs to be a lot better than that tomorrow.
