Cubs win pace: 52 games.
Cubs Hope pace: 0

At least the Cubs have a chance to win a game this series. A 5th series sweep to the second worst NL team (ahead of only the Cubs) would make me cheer for them to beat the '03 Tigers record.

This series is truly the easily stoppable force meeting the very movable object.

Jim Leyland got ejected again. If he keeps getting thrown out of games and the Cubs never win again, bench coach Lloyd McClendon may end up managing more games than Sveum this season.

Why is the number next to the Cubs higher than the number next to the Padres? This isn't a situation I recognize.

When Barney hits one out, you know the wind is really blowing out.

Well this won't do.
   8. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: May 28, 2012 at 03:54 PM (#4141735)
I wonder what the score would be under today's conditions if two good teams were playing.

Anytime Soriano actually tries hard, I think he going to pull a hammy.

If you can't beat 2012 Jeff Suppan with the wind blowing out at a million miles an hour, you can't win another game.
   11. SteveM. Posted: May 28, 2012 at 04:23 PM (#4141757)
That was a legit homerun by Soriano. Best hit he has had in years.

You would never know the Padres are one of the worst offensive teams in baseball. They're legitimately smashing the ball today.
   13. SteveM. Posted: May 28, 2012 at 04:32 PM (#4141766)
The Cubs have 8 runs but no walks. If the wind wasn't blowing out, they might have 1-2 runs.
   14. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: May 28, 2012 at 04:53 PM (#4141772)
That's a pretty hilarious result given how hopeless Starlin looked on those first two swings.
   15. SteveM. Posted: May 28, 2012 at 04:55 PM (#4141773)
Castro is the one Cub that gives me hope for the future. Love to see him develop 15-20 HR power.
   16. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: May 28, 2012 at 05:21 PM (#4141782)
Casey Coleman is what stands between the Cubs and ending this losing streak. Uh oh.
   17. SteveM. Posted: May 28, 2012 at 05:30 PM (#4141783)
Cubs win! Our long national nightmare is over.
   18. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: May 28, 2012 at 05:32 PM (#4141786)
That was like winning the World Series.
