Assuming that Niese is done for the night, he know has a 1.74 ERA in his last 6 starts, and a 112 ERA+ on the season. All the homers are a little worrisome but I think that's a tad flukey considering he's a groundball pitcher for the most part.

Niese had one of those BABIP-lucky starts, which he richly deserves. Lot of at 'ems.

Actually, now that I check, this is the first year that Niese has outperformed his peripherals. I take that as a great sign that he isn't the next Glendon Rusch.

44-37 at the halfway point. Some solid performances from the Mets younger players so far this season. Better than was expected.
