I expect the Red Sox to get destroyed this evening.

And the deluge of runs begins.

Nice adjustments from Ellsbury and Crawford in their 2nd ABs against Darvish.
   4. Dan Posted: August 06, 2012 at 08:13 PM (#4201929)
Cook will hand it all right back.

After Napoli made the final out if the inning Elvis Andrus was the player who warmed up Darvish. He was pretty bad at it but it seemed odd for it to be him rather than an actual catcher.

Well Soto would have been on deck, since he's DHing and hitting behind Napoli, so he wasn't in a good spot to do it either.

It's nice seeing the Red Sox running wild on a team's lousy catcher.

Morning all , been a while.

Hope you are well

Been really enjoying the Sox on my i phone lately - is anyone surprised that it is cracked???

   9. Dan Posted: August 06, 2012 at 08:40 PM (#4201948)
They're running on Darvish, not Napoli. Napoli's really not bad at controlling the running game, at least when he's not catching a guy who pays no attention to the base runners.
   10. Dan Posted: August 06, 2012 at 08:45 PM (#4201952)
I can't say I was expecting the Sox to hit like this off of Darvish, but that's far less shockign than the fact that Cook has only allowed 1 run. Of course he's allowed about a hojillion base runners, but keeps getting double plays and the Rangers keep letting him off the hook, but he's keeping them off the board.

Cook has 2(!!) strikeouts tonight?
   12. ellsbury my heart at wounded knee Posted: August 06, 2012 at 08:52 PM (#4201957)
An Aaron Cook strikeout! Almost never seen in the wild!
   13. Dan Posted: August 06, 2012 at 08:52 PM (#4201958)
Aaron Cook strikes out Josh Hamilton. Does not compute.
   14. Dan Posted: August 06, 2012 at 08:59 PM (#4201961)
Kalish grimacing as he walks off the field after the CS. He looks like he's in a lot of pain. Awesome.
   15. plink Posted: August 06, 2012 at 08:59 PM (#4201962)
Terrible slide on many levels, Kalish.
   16. Dan Posted: August 06, 2012 at 09:05 PM (#4201965)
Middlebrooks is looking much better on defense lately.
   17. Dan Posted: August 06, 2012 at 09:17 PM (#4201971)
Why is Darvish pitching the 7th inning after being over 100 pitches and allowing 5 runs in 6 innings? What's the point?
   18. Dan Posted: August 06, 2012 at 09:25 PM (#4201976)
I still think Kalish will turn into a good 4th OFer or a decent starter (think David Murphy with slightly better defense, maybe), but whoever picked him over Reddick should really not be trusted to ever make another decision for this organization.
   19. ellsbury my heart at wounded knee Posted: August 06, 2012 at 09:30 PM (#4201980)
I thought Kalish would be better than Reddick, but that's probably why I don't work for a major league team.
   20. Joel W Posted: August 06, 2012 at 09:33 PM (#4201984)
I'm pretty sure Kalish>Reddick was the general consensus on Sox Therapy.
   21. Dan Posted: August 06, 2012 at 09:45 PM (#4201996)
Sure, but no one on Sox Therapy or SoSH or OverTheMonster is being paid to make that judgment.
   22. Dan Posted: August 06, 2012 at 10:02 PM (#4202007)
And more importantly, no one on these websites will be making those decisions going forward.
