Ah, should have written it down... Basically, that you can't look too closely at results, and if three of the six or so ground balls that went through were near a fielder like on a typical night, that's probably three runs and thirty less pitches and he's pitching into the 7th.

Which is probably true, but putting it like that is going to be like waving raw meat in front of the guys who call WEEI; it doesn't sound a whole lot better than "I just had a few bad pitches".

What I've seen of him being interviewed the past few days tends to support that he really is analytic by nature, and doesn't really have the "put everything else out of his head" mindset people tend to think a closer needs.
