Hey Phil. Congrats on the Hammers. Good day for the both of us. Let's hope the Sox can keep it up...
   3. Phil Coorey. Posted: May 19, 2012 at 08:02 PM (#4136047)
Thanks Fancy Pants - I am nursing a hangover for the ages!

Nice strike call there to AG - never knew we would get the amazing Buck/McCarver combo today - how lucky are we.

I still haven't seen the Champions League final either - was it good?

I still haven't seen the Champions League final either - was it good?

Not great football, but very thrilling, if that makes sense.
   5. Phil Coorey. Posted: May 19, 2012 at 08:10 PM (#4136050)
Surely does - nice catch Gonzo!!!
   6. Phil Coorey. Posted: May 19, 2012 at 08:16 PM (#4136051)
LATE TO THE PARTY - BUT WMB!!
   7. Phil Coorey. Posted: May 19, 2012 at 08:17 PM (#4136052)
SALTY!
   8. Lassus Posted: May 19, 2012 at 08:30 PM (#4136059)
The box, it is a band.
   9. Lassus Posted: May 19, 2012 at 08:30 PM (#4136061)
Good lord, what happened to all your chatterers? I guess people have lives.
   10. Phil Coorey. Posted: May 19, 2012 at 08:30 PM (#4136062)
Jon Lester is kidding himself - just horrible
   11. Phil Coorey. Posted: May 19, 2012 at 08:36 PM (#4136067)
Good lord, what happened to all your chatterers? I guess people have lives.

A few are away this weekend - I'm still blowing bubbles here but will be in and out

Hope you are well

CRUSHED!!!
   12. Lassus Posted: May 19, 2012 at 08:36 PM (#4136068)
Nice. HA HA CHARLIE
   13. Chip Posted: May 19, 2012 at 08:57 PM (#4136074)
Lester is really annoying me.
   14. Mattbert Posted: May 19, 2012 at 09:08 PM (#4136080)
I still haven't seen the Champions League final either - was it good?

No.
   15. Chip Posted: May 19, 2012 at 09:17 PM (#4136084)
Annoying me again with his failures against the bottom of the order, in a lineup that sucks overall.
   16. Chip Posted: May 19, 2012 at 09:26 PM (#4136090)
Gonzalez back to having ugly- looking ABs.
   17. Darren Posted: May 19, 2012 at 09:28 PM (#4136091)
Hi all. Nice to see the offense teeing off.
   18. Chip Posted: May 19, 2012 at 09:32 PM (#4136093)
Thanks for hacking at ball four, Jimmy.
   19. Chip Posted: May 19, 2012 at 09:36 PM (#4136097)
Eephus burned.
   20. Chip Posted: May 19, 2012 at 09:37 PM (#4136098)
And Buck & McCarver seem completely unaware that Padilla throws an eephus.
   21. Chip Posted: May 19, 2012 at 09:40 PM (#4136100)
You go Ryan Sweeney.
   22. Darren Posted: May 19, 2012 at 09:41 PM (#4136101)
If this was the end of last year, that ball pops out of his glove.
   23. Phil Coorey. Posted: May 19, 2012 at 09:41 PM (#4136102)
WHAT A CATCH!!!!

Lester is really annoying me.

All season he has for me

   24. Darren Posted: May 19, 2012 at 09:45 PM (#4136104)
He's had a couple good starts, Phil. This is basically typical early season Lester.

   25. Chip Posted: May 19, 2012 at 09:46 PM (#4136105)
Salty killing the ball tonight. McCarver right to gush about him doing this with twelve stitches in the ear.
   26. Darren Posted: May 19, 2012 at 09:46 PM (#4136106)
On the eephus, that is kinda what it's supposed to do, right? The guy's eyes get big but he jumps out of his shoes and gets under it. Granted, you'd rather he not hit it quite that well.
   27. Chip Posted: May 19, 2012 at 09:48 PM (#4136107)
Salty really should have scored on that.
   28. Chip Posted: May 19, 2012 at 09:50 PM (#4136111)
Safe by a mile.
   29. Darren Posted: May 19, 2012 at 09:50 PM (#4136112)
Awesome play by Rollins. But safe?
   30. Phil Coorey. Posted: May 19, 2012 at 09:50 PM (#4136114)
Tip of the hat to Rollins - didn't really like the bunt though
   31. Phil Coorey. Posted: May 19, 2012 at 09:51 PM (#4136115)
Jesus - on replay he looked safe

(cokes above)
   32. Chip Posted: May 19, 2012 at 09:51 PM (#4136116)
Can't believe (OK, I can) that Buck & McCarver said nothing about how late that tag was.
   33. Darren Posted: May 19, 2012 at 09:53 PM (#4136117)
This is one of those plays where the runner really shouldn't be sliding. He is only slowing himself down and making it easier to tag him.

(And yes, I thought Jeremy Giambi did the right thing.)
   34. Phil Coorey. Posted: May 19, 2012 at 09:54 PM (#4136119)
He's had a couple good starts, Phil. This is basically typical early season Lester.

I fully understand (and my comment for want of a better word sounded a little SOSH like) - I just have not enjoyed him all that much this year as I usually do

   35. Darren Posted: May 19, 2012 at 09:54 PM (#4136120)
Chip, it was super close. It wouldn't surprise me a ton if he was actually out, though he looked safe.

Oh, that's a bad start to the inning.
   36. Phil Coorey. Posted: May 19, 2012 at 09:55 PM (#4136121)
Another joke hit
   37. Darren Posted: May 19, 2012 at 09:55 PM (#4136122)
Gotcha Phil. No worries.
   38. Phil Coorey. Posted: May 19, 2012 at 09:56 PM (#4136124)
Nothing good was happening after the infield hit
   39. Darren Posted: May 19, 2012 at 09:56 PM (#4136125)
Oh, so it's not a strike now?
   40. Chip Posted: May 19, 2012 at 09:57 PM (#4136126)
For chrissakes.
   41. Darren Posted: May 19, 2012 at 09:57 PM (#4136127)
They really should know that it's part of his repertoire. He really shouldn't be throwing it this much.
   42. Chip Posted: May 19, 2012 at 09:58 PM (#4136129)
They should appeal at first. Luna left early.
   43. Phil Coorey. Posted: May 19, 2012 at 09:58 PM (#4136130)
Great to see they both advanced
   44. Darren Posted: May 19, 2012 at 09:59 PM (#4136131)
Sweeny needs to make a better play there.
   45. Darren Posted: May 19, 2012 at 10:00 PM (#4136132)
Don't eat junk food, eat some gatorade candy instead.
   46. Answer Guy Posted: May 19, 2012 at 10:01 PM (#4136133)
I always seem to expect disaster for this team. I've been right too often.
   47. Phil Coorey. Posted: May 19, 2012 at 10:02 PM (#4136134)
Wow - that run didn't score from 3rd there? Cool !
   48. Darren Posted: May 19, 2012 at 10:02 PM (#4136135)
That was a nice quick out.
   49. Phil Coorey. Posted: May 19, 2012 at 10:04 PM (#4136137)
Anyone dislike going to Aceves here ? I do - why not leave Hill in - it's only the Corpse of Jimmy Rollins - is he mashing lefties? I can't be assed looking it up
   50. Jay Seaver Posted: May 19, 2012 at 10:06 PM (#4136139)
Hey all. Sounds like the Sox have been living dangerously.
   51. Chip Posted: May 19, 2012 at 10:07 PM (#4136141)
Strike two was a beautiful pitch.
   52. Chip Posted: May 19, 2012 at 10:09 PM (#4136142)
####. Me.
   53. Phil Coorey. Posted: May 19, 2012 at 10:10 PM (#4136143)
Very much so , Jay
   54. Chip Posted: May 19, 2012 at 10:11 PM (#4136144)
Where did the 1-0 to Mayberry miss?
   55. Phil Coorey. Posted: May 19, 2012 at 10:12 PM (#4136146)
Two infield hits this inning
   56. Chip Posted: May 19, 2012 at 10:13 PM (#4136147)
Thank you over-anxious Shane.
   57. Answer Guy Posted: May 19, 2012 at 10:13 PM (#4136148)
Well, that could easily have been worse.
   58. Chip Posted: May 19, 2012 at 10:18 PM (#4136149)
Contreras throwing nothing but slop gets two outs easily.
   59. Phil Coorey. Posted: May 19, 2012 at 10:18 PM (#4136150)
Yeah - that ended reasonably well - I was on the phone talking about the Hammers - win/win!!!
   60. Chip Posted: May 19, 2012 at 10:20 PM (#4136151)
And three outs on slop.
   61. Answer Guy Posted: May 19, 2012 at 10:21 PM (#4136155)
An insurance run or two would have been nice. Just not a lot of confidence in Aceves in this role.
   62. Chip Posted: May 19, 2012 at 10:23 PM (#4136156)
Byrd will #### up a play in center.
   63. Lassus Posted: May 19, 2012 at 10:23 PM (#4136157)
Should have used his bare hand.
   64. Jay Seaver Posted: May 19, 2012 at 10:23 PM (#4136158)
@#$%^&$#Q$%&##!

(Although, I'll be honest, I'm surprised more scoop-tosses don't go like that)
   65. Chip Posted: May 19, 2012 at 10:24 PM (#4136159)
Aceves did not need to glove shove that. Could have barehanded and gotten him.
   66. Phil Coorey. Posted: May 19, 2012 at 10:24 PM (#4136160)
What's worse about that bunt working is that ######## in the booth called it

DP!!
   67. Jay Seaver Posted: May 19, 2012 at 10:24 PM (#4136161)
Nice!
   68. Lassus Posted: May 19, 2012 at 10:24 PM (#4136162)
HA! Awesome.
   69. Answer Guy Posted: May 19, 2012 at 10:25 PM (#4136163)
For once, they catch a break!
   70. Chip Posted: May 19, 2012 at 10:26 PM (#4136164)
Aceves determined to live dangerously.
   71. Chip Posted: May 19, 2012 at 10:28 PM (#4136167)
Never in doubt.
   72. FancyPantsHandle glistening with foreign substance Posted: May 19, 2012 at 10:28 PM (#4136168)
Good game, get em tomorrow lads.... oh wait we actually won?!
   73. Answer Guy Posted: May 19, 2012 at 10:28 PM (#4136169)
Phew!
   74. Jay Seaver Posted: May 19, 2012 at 10:29 PM (#4136170)
Whew.
