Is this thing on?

I would say that ground-rule double was unfortunate, but with Adrian running...

At least Phil Hughes still sucks.

Saltalamacchia in an 0-2 count is such a foregone conclusion.
   5. Biff, highly-regarded young guy Posted: July 27, 2012 at 07:27 PM (#4194143)
That was the slowest developing double play I've ever seen.
   6. Dan Posted: July 27, 2012 at 07:28 PM (#4194145)
Aviles moving in slow motion?
   7. Dan Posted: July 27, 2012 at 07:31 PM (#4194151)
Well that was a shock.
   8. Dan Posted: July 27, 2012 at 07:32 PM (#4194152)
Cook is hanging sinkers at shoulder height. That's just impressively awful.

Has it ever been determined who made the call for Cook over Morales in the rotation?
   10. Dan Posted: July 27, 2012 at 07:48 PM (#4194169)
At least Phil Hughes still sucks.

Wow. Just wow.

Tough to thread the needle on a hit like that.

are we seriously intentionally walking raul ibanez

is this what it's come to
   14. The Yankee Clapper Posted: July 27, 2012 at 08:11 PM (#4194181)
Ibanez was 6 for 12 against Cook.

Solo HRs, solo HRs for everyone!

Small sample size, etc., etc. I don't know about you, but I don't want my team's manager making stupid tactical decisions because of 12 ABs.

Not the Yankees.

are there smart tactical decisions based on 12 AB?

Actually, it was 13 ABs (with 7 hits) when you add in the 1st inning HR. Given that you had Andruw Jones against a right-hander next, the walk seemed the way to go.

The guy in the Yankee Ichiro t-shirt was waaaay too excited about getting the foul ball.

There is a part of me that just wants to get swept this weekend to put away any illusions of contention so Cherington doesn't do anything stupid this week.

Maybe Phil Hughes doesn't suck quite so much?

While being far too lazy to run the numbers, I find it unlikely that Ibanez is better enough than Jones for that at bat to justify the extra baserunner.

That'll settle out the Pyth a bit.
