Perfecto #2 for the day?
   2. Jay Seaver Posted: August 15, 2012 at 08:03 PM (#4209222)
No (he said, after starting to type "Well, Cook is apparently having another one of those ridiculously efficient games...").
   3. Jay Seaver Posted: August 15, 2012 at 08:17 PM (#4209235)
Run! Because Podsednik & Punto were on base. Go figure.
   4. DKDC Posted: August 15, 2012 at 08:21 PM (#4209239)
It would be really nice to string a few hits together and score some runs and win this game...
   5. DKDC Posted: August 15, 2012 at 08:31 PM (#4209252)
Pathetic. Hopefully they can come back tomorrow and salvage a series win.
   6. Jose Can Still Seabiscuit Posted: August 15, 2012 at 08:40 PM (#4209262)
It's Aaron Cook DKDC. I wouldn't throw in the towel yet.
   7. Jay Seaver Posted: August 15, 2012 at 08:44 PM (#4209266)
Ah, nuts. That would've been fun.
   8. Jose Can Still Seabiscuit Posted: August 15, 2012 at 08:45 PM (#4209269)
Not wasting anytime getting action in the pen. I wonder if Cook has had the flu or something.
   9. Jay Seaver Posted: August 15, 2012 at 08:49 PM (#4209271)
WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT???
   10. Jose Can Still Seabiscuit Posted: August 15, 2012 at 08:49 PM (#4209272)
Red sox baseball.
   11. Jay Seaver Posted: August 15, 2012 at 08:51 PM (#4209275)
#10 works as either response or observation.
   12. Jay Seaver Posted: August 15, 2012 at 08:51 PM (#4209277)
Well, that went completely to crap fast.
   13. Dan Posted: August 15, 2012 at 08:52 PM (#4209278)
Nicely done, Cook.
   14. Jose Can Still Seabiscuit Posted: August 15, 2012 at 08:53 PM (#4209281)
Anytime this ####### offense wants to strt ##### slapping people around I'm ok with that. The sox have gotten shut down all too often by pitchers tht really shouldn't be shutting them down.
   15. DKDC Posted: August 15, 2012 at 08:55 PM (#4209285)
I didn't really throw in the towel, that was just a little exasperated fan reverse jinx action.

I don't feel very good about a one run lead.
   16. Jose Can Still Seabiscuit Posted: August 15, 2012 at 09:00 PM (#4209292)
With your bullpen and the Sox pack it in lineup you should feel good.
   17. Jose Can Still Seabiscuit Posted: August 15, 2012 at 09:02 PM (#4209293)
The NESN angle it looked like if Crawford had reached up he had it.
   18. DKDC Posted: August 15, 2012 at 09:04 PM (#4209296)
Same on the MASN angle...
   19. DKDC Posted: August 15, 2012 at 09:25 PM (#4209314)
Man it is so nice hav a competent defender at 3B. Machado has been really impressive considering he's barely played the position.
   20. Jay Seaver Posted: August 15, 2012 at 09:34 PM (#4209322)
Do umpires really think that this enhances their authority, as opposed to making them look insecure?

This is why I find it hilarious when people point at the runs/game and say "the offense is fine it's all the pitching that's to blame for the record".
   22. Jose Can Still Seabiscuit Posted: August 15, 2012 at 09:35 PM (#4209325)
What was Gonzalez upset about?
   23. Jose Can Still Seabiscuit Posted: August 15, 2012 at 09:37 PM (#4209327)
Wax he arguing a quick pitch? He rarely argues and that seems an odd thing to get so fired up about.
   24. Jose Can Still Seabiscuit Posted: August 15, 2012 at 09:40 PM (#4209330)
I think he had a bit of a beef but that's a weird play.
   25. DKDC Posted: August 15, 2012 at 09:41 PM (#4209331)
That's what the MASN guys thought (which I think is legal with the bases empty.

Bobby clearly wanted to get tossed there. A little silly, but if he doesn't go out there he looks like he doesn't have Gonzos back.
   26. Dan Posted: August 15, 2012 at 09:42 PM (#4209332)
A 1-2-3 8th inning warrants a mound celebration?
   27. Jose Can Still Seabiscuit Posted: August 15, 2012 at 09:51 PM (#4209343)
My tv is broken, it looks like we are intentionally walking Mark Reynolds to pitch to Manny Machado.
   28. DKDC Posted: August 15, 2012 at 09:58 PM (#4209358)
Looks like a good strategy. Although it would've been nice if he didn't take 90 seconds between each pitch.

Is a painfully slow pace something Yankees and Red Sox coaches encourage?
   29. Jose Can Still Seabiscuit Posted: August 15, 2012 at 10:02 PM (#4209360)
Seems like the Sox do and I hate it. Work fast, change speeds, throw strikes. I can think of a team that had some success with that approach.
