Pedro Ciriaco in left field today.

Ryan Kalish on the bench.

Not that anything the Red Sox do anymore is particularly relevant, but why would Gomez be playing 3B and Aviles DH rather than the other way around?

A's 30, Red Sox 3 this weekend. Holy Toledo!

If Gomez is going to have a role on this team next year it's probably as a backup so identifying if he is capable of serving as an occasional 3rd baseman has some value.

In fairness to Bobby, Joe C. said on the radio that Kalish has a sore shoulder. I stand by my \"#### you Bobby Valentine" since I hate him with the heat of a thousand suns but at least his absence from the lineup has some validity.

31 to 3 Shooty. Try and keep up. I know it's tricky but....oops, make it 32 to 3.

I miss Bill King. Especially on days like today.

Stop putting up a fight Sox!

It's relatively far down the list of problems for this red sox team but damn does Jerry Royster suck. Is not the frequency of getting guys thrown out but the decision making process. The difference between 6-1 and 6-2 is virtually nil, the sox need the big inning here and getting Pods gunned down for the second out is a waste.

And don't misunderstand me, Cespedes made a beautiful throw but it's Roysters job to understand that Cespedes has that ability. I realize it's been almost 18 hours since he last did that against the Sox so asking Royster to remember is probably unfair.

Ugh, this started as an attempt to compliment Cespedes, he's awesome.

Jose, no snark intended, I'm impressed your even watching this game. Watching the Sox right now can't be much fun.

Honestly I'm in and out. I don't mean this as arrogantly as it will come off but after a decade and change of watching intense games every night there is something fun about watching for the hell of it. Don't get me wrong, I'd take a human life if it got the Sox to 90 wins but I'm making the most of it.

I go to spring training every year, largely to give the Sox Therapy guys cause to make fun of my stupid proclamations ( I was high on Lackey last year). This is like spring training, baseball for pure fun. I'm watching this a lot like I watch soccer, no real rooting interest, just enjoying the games and finding reasos to root for a team in each game.

For example I've been doing a lot as the game has gone on but right now I've stopped to watch Tazawa pitch. He's one of the few positives this year, his velocity has been up lately and he should be prt of the future.

Is Doolittle the guy they converted from the outfield?

From 1st base, yes. He's fantastic.

33-5, the boys really stepped up when they had to today.
