Wieters won't be playing tonight due to the birth of his son. Insert joke here.

I have to say, I can barely comprehend the situation these two teams are in right now. I'm going to wake up soon and it will be September 2011 and things will make sense, right?

#2 crazy, right?

This is the 1 year anniversary of game 162 last year. What a crazy year it's been.

The O's are digging early holes seemingly every game lately. Oddly it makes me feel better that, from the play log, it looks like the Os shooting themselves in the foot.

Let's score a ton of runs, now.

Yeah, but the Orioles' ability to dig holes is nothing compared to the 2012 Red Sox' ability to give back leads, especially the last couple of months. That home run didn't even make me look up from my laptop.

Screw this year.

The drama is going out of this one quickly.
   7. DKDC Posted: September 28, 2012 at 07:31 PM (#4248480)
Still only the first inning.
   8. toratoratora Posted: September 28, 2012 at 07:32 PM (#4248482)
Well that was quick. Sox still can't get out of the first. Give these guys credit where it's due,-they're consistent if nothing else

Great, stalling to replace Cook with Aceves. Uggggh.

These quesadillas are ####### good.

The Red Sox are not.

Error, balk, what next? Thome's got to come home on a wild pitch or something.

Honestly, I'm inspired by the way the Orioles are playing right now and I'm not even a fan.

Tons of people at Camden Yards are wearing "Thanks, Buck!" t-shirts as a tribute to Showalter. That really gets it right, IMO. Just so impressed with the job he's done getting this team to where it is despite all its early flaws and what looked like another inevitable 2nd-half swoon.

Of course you have to credit the players too, especially Adam Jones, for whom it just breaks my heart to see being the superstar with the Orioles that I expected him to be with the Mariners. Manny Machado is a really nice story too...only two years in the minors, never above AA ball, and he's holding down the hot corner under immense pressure.
   13. DKDC Posted: September 28, 2012 at 08:07 PM (#4248512)
Or the Orioles will just strand him at third.
   14. Jay Seaver Posted: September 28, 2012 at 08:14 PM (#4248514)
Man, Pedroia looked all kinds of out.
   15. Jay Seaver Posted: September 28, 2012 at 08:14 PM (#4248515)
But was not. Reminder #3758 that the umps are better than they are given credit for.
   16. Jay Seaver Posted: September 28, 2012 at 08:43 PM (#4248535)
And it gets uglier.

Were there ever any details given on what is up with Ellsbury? It seemed minor enough to bring him in during that awful Ciriaco-in-CF game, but since then it's just been "a situation", so far as I know.
   17. DKDC Posted: September 28, 2012 at 09:05 PM (#4248554)
So....I didn't see the first inning for the Sox, but is there any chance that hit could've been called an error?

Oh, yeah, that's the start of a rally there!
