Is Lowry the real deal? I have not seen him pitch yet, anybody have an opinion on how he looks?

Giants likely to move into second place tonight. And like the DBacks and Dodgers, they won't get any higher.

Soft-tossing lefty = Arizona "bats" go bye-bye

And Vargas is officially a pumpkin again. I hope Arizona gives Nippert a chance to pitch in spite of themselves. It's probably time to shut down Halsey for the year, anyway.

So soon it will be the Giants turn to pick up the title of "Team that is pursuing the Padres."

Good luck to ya!

Lowry is the real deal...

His repertoire is similiar to Barry Zito with a much better change, a better fastball and a worse Curve. But he's young, he strikes people out, and he can hit. And as you saw in the game tonight...he is unflappable.

By the way...love the Arizona Bullpen....

Lowry looks like he was built for Pac-Bell, particularly if the Giants ever play an outfield born after WWII.

So do you Diamondback fans just turn the game off when the bullpen comes in?

Nah, it's kinda fun to see history unfold before our eyes.

You know SF's bullpen has been pretty shaky most of the year...but they have reached down to Fresno for Accardo, Muntner, and now Taschner...and all three are probably better than anybody in Arizona's bullpen...

I'd take Valverde going forward over just about every other bullpen arm in the NL West.
