Detroit is already winning 1-0 before the first batter? Is that the handicap?
   2. Dan Posted: July 30, 2012 at 07:15 PM (#4196378)
Up 2-0 after the leadoff homer.
   3. Joe Bivens, Minor Genius Posted: July 30, 2012 at 07:18 PM (#4196381)
Buchholz always has that 'confused inbred' look on his mush after he gives up HRs. I'd rather see him angry than confused.
   4. Joe Bivens, Minor Genius Posted: July 30, 2012 at 07:18 PM (#4196383)
Nice play, Sling Blade.
   5. Joe Bivens, Minor Genius Posted: July 30, 2012 at 07:20 PM (#4196384)
Can you imagine the conversations he and his wife must have? (She of "Bikini Destinations" "fame".) Vey iz meer.
   6. Dan Posted: July 30, 2012 at 07:26 PM (#4196390)
Nice job of damage control after the double with Cabrera and FIelder coming up.
   7. Dan Posted: July 30, 2012 at 07:30 PM (#4196394)
Oh my god Crawford hit a ball to LCF with authority.
   8. Joe Bivens, Minor Genius Posted: July 30, 2012 at 07:36 PM (#4196400)
OK, Sling Blade, settle down and keep them from scoring more than 5.
   9. Darren Posted: July 30, 2012 at 07:38 PM (#4196404)
Crawford! How is everyone?
   10. Joe Bivens, Minor Genius Posted: July 30, 2012 at 07:39 PM (#4196405)
How about "Jenny Undressed"?
   11. Joe Bivens, Minor Genius Posted: July 30, 2012 at 07:40 PM (#4196407)
Justin Verlander will impregnate Jenny Dell when we return.
   12. Darren Posted: July 30, 2012 at 07:40 PM (#4196408)
How about if they just unplug her mike and... yeah, just unplug her mike.

Oh and Jerry and Don's as well.
   13. Joe Bivens, Minor Genius Posted: July 30, 2012 at 07:43 PM (#4196411)
How many years has BobbyV's life been shortened by because of this season?
   14. Darren Posted: July 30, 2012 at 07:44 PM (#4196413)
I tell you the Red Sox official scorers are completely out of step with how MLB is scored these days. That is a difficult play made by a 2b ranging way to his left and having to make a good and well-timed throw. It's always a hit.

Nice move Salty.
   15. Joe Bivens, Minor Genius Posted: July 30, 2012 at 07:45 PM (#4196415)
How does this guy average only 2 HRs a year?
   16. Joe Bivens, Minor Genius Posted: July 30, 2012 at 07:47 PM (#4196422)
Did you see that twinkle in her eye? She's been fertilized.
   17. Joe Bivens, Minor Genius Posted: July 30, 2012 at 07:49 PM (#4196424)
Wait....Saltalamonkeyface AND Shoppach in the lineup? BobbyV giving the big F.U. to the F.O.
   18. fra paolo Posted: July 30, 2012 at 07:53 PM (#4196429)
Infante Watch: Now 4 for 22 since the trade.
   19. Joe Bivens, Minor Genius Posted: July 30, 2012 at 07:53 PM (#4196430)
BobbyV is trying to get fired, at this point. He's had enough.
   20. Joe Bivens, Minor Genius Posted: July 30, 2012 at 07:54 PM (#4196432)
The beginning of his breakdown was the weekend in Chicago, when he grunted along to someone's freestyle.
   21. fra paolo Posted: July 30, 2012 at 08:05 PM (#4196442)
Double-play Delmon might kill this rally.
   22. fra paolo Posted: July 30, 2012 at 08:06 PM (#4196444)
See. Typical 2012 Tigers' inning.
   23. Joe Bivens, Minor Genius Posted: July 30, 2012 at 08:09 PM (#4196446)
Send him a hot dog, Jerry.
   24. Joe Bivens, Minor Genius Posted: July 30, 2012 at 08:15 PM (#4196452)
Oh yes, I'm gong on FB to "like" an INSURANCE COMPANY.
   25. Joe Bivens, Minor Genius Posted: July 30, 2012 at 08:16 PM (#4196455)
"We're based in Quincy, so you're getting a local screwing."
   26. fra paolo Posted: July 30, 2012 at 08:32 PM (#4196475)
Infante Watch: 4 for 23 since the trade.
   27. fra paolo Posted: July 30, 2012 at 08:37 PM (#4196483)
Here we go again. You won't see another Tigers' rally not involving The Big Man and/or Prince for the rest of the game.
   28. Dale Sams Posted: July 30, 2012 at 08:52 PM (#4196495)
.........
   29. Joel W Posted: July 30, 2012 at 08:57 PM (#4196500)
Dale, is that a "Carl Crawford hit a triple and walked in the same game and I am speechless" triple ellipsis?
   30. fra paolo Posted: July 30, 2012 at 08:58 PM (#4196502)
And now we have the characteristic starter's bad inning in the middle of the game.
   31. fra paolo Posted: July 30, 2012 at 09:05 PM (#4196507)
Only two runs? Usually it's three or four.
   32. Dale Sams Posted: July 30, 2012 at 09:06 PM (#4196508)
In another thread i promised to stop ######## about CC and just post "...." when he did something bad. That was for one of his characteristiclly horrible swings at a ball 2 feet off the plate. I was going to say something positive about the follow-up walk, but didn't think there were enough people here to really notice.

So, grats on the triple Carl, you always did smash balls low center, please stop weakly stabbing at balls when you're up in the count (the groundout) ...and a hearty gratz on the walk.
   33. fra paolo Posted: July 30, 2012 at 09:11 PM (#4196511)
Tigers' radio announcers think that should have been scored 'E-umpire'.
   34. fra paolo Posted: July 30, 2012 at 09:17 PM (#4196515)
In the last four games, that's only the second run the Tigers have scored in innnings 4 through 7.

Infante Watch: 4 for 24 since the trade.
   35. Dan Posted: July 30, 2012 at 09:27 PM (#4196521)
Letting Scherzer face Ellsbury and THEN going to the lefty is pretty dumb by Leyland, IMO.
   36. Dan Posted: July 30, 2012 at 09:40 PM (#4196529)
Buchholz looks pretty gassed to me, I think I'd pull him after Berry.
   37. fra paolo Posted: July 30, 2012 at 09:48 PM (#4196532)
It's my impression that Leyland sticks with 'his guys', until they give him reason to pull them. He doesn't do match-ups until after the first cab off the bullpen rank
   38. Dan Posted: July 30, 2012 at 10:01 PM (#4196539)
I have a bad feeling that Padilla is going to make this "interesting".
   39. Dan Posted: July 30, 2012 at 10:02 PM (#4196542)
Walking Delmon Young with a 4 run lead is ridiculous in so many ways.
   40. fra paolo Posted: July 30, 2012 at 10:04 PM (#4196545)
I don't know what's going on with Delmon Young. He has walked five times in the last six games, but only nine times in the previous 88.
   41. Dan Posted: July 30, 2012 at 10:06 PM (#4196549)
Oh hey look, Padilla created a save situation without even getting an out.
   42. Dan Posted: July 30, 2012 at 10:07 PM (#4196551)
That was a long way to go to take it yourself.
   43. Textbook Editor Posted: July 30, 2012 at 10:07 PM (#4196552)
I wonder if Morales not pitching here means maybe he'll be needed for a spot start tomorrow...
   44. Dan Posted: July 30, 2012 at 10:08 PM (#4196553)
You wish. I wish.
   45. Biff, highly-regarded young guy Posted: July 30, 2012 at 10:09 PM (#4196554)
I really wish Don would cut the 'Fenway stands as one' ####. Especially in this kind of situation. It's a ####### 4-run game, getting the last strike here is not exactly crucial.
   46. Dan Posted: July 30, 2012 at 10:11 PM (#4196556)
He's a ####### robot. Last strike of game means run <fenway standing as one> routine.
   47. fra paolo Posted: July 30, 2012 at 10:29 PM (#4196579)
Ugh, now I have to cheer for the Twins.
