The cramp talk was referring to Jeter's shoulder.
Oh ok. So the company line on Gonzalez is still "flulike symptoms"?
Was.
Not dealing him yet is going to be a huge mistake. He had value when he had the shiny ERA. Once that goes, he's have zero value.
Maybe we can find a GM dumb enough to give us a switch-hitting power-hitting shortstop with a history of injury troubles for him. Nah, no one would be that dumb.
I honestly am blanking on who this could be... Rollins?
Would that shortstop put up a .306 OBP for the last two months leading to the all star break continuing his career trend of having an awesome three weeks followed by sucking for several months? I know where we can find one of those.
Sounds like a guy who's .165/.280.282 over his last 100 PAs (and that's before his 0-3 with a walk today).
The guy they held onto to replace him with has a .280 OBP on the entire season. So Lowrie's OBP during his slump is better than Aviles's season OBP, and that's an argument that dumping Lowrie wasn't a poor move?
It's an argument that Lowrie is not that good.
Yeah, but that's a healthy Lowrie. What's his OBP going to be when he gets rickets?
Nice call, Shulman. Taking lessons from Don Orsillo?
Wind blowing in. Even Cano failed to hit one out that way.
Whoever compiled the scouting report on how to pitch to him should probably be fired.
I eagerly await whatever bizarre disasters come in the second half.
