Man, I hate Fox. What was with that dumb-ass X-Men promo?
   2. BTF's left-wing cheering section (formerly_dp) Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:23 PM (#2028707)
Retarded, seriously. Almost worse than the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen/All-Star game promo....
   3. Paul S Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:23 PM (#2028708)
Oh, how I missed crappy Fox movie tie-ins.
   4. Big Train Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:23 PM (#2028710)
Brennamen is still talking about Manny showing up Zito in game 5 of 2003
   5. Big Train Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:25 PM (#2028712)
Well, there were 3 more last night.

Pedro is the awesomeness.
   7. salajander Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:25 PM (#2028714)
Oh my god.

Worst. Yankee. Line-up. Evar.

I'd like to be watching this epic pitching matchup instead of Freddy Garcia and Rich Hill. ####### ######## regional coverage. Thanks, Fox.

"Stop eating my tulips!"
   10. AJM Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:26 PM (#2028718)
What the hell was that Cliff?
   11. Joshemy Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:27 PM (#2028719)
Pedro is the awesomeness.

Um, Cliff, not good.
   12. Paul S Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:27 PM (#2028720)
Wow, Buck and McCarver somehow got worse. Or they're high.
   13. tfbg9 Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:27 PM (#2028722)
Move him off the plate. Afternoon everybody.
   14. TVerik Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:28 PM (#2028723)
I guess Sally wasn't watching during the Stump Merrill era.
   15. Big Train Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:28 PM (#2028724)
Posada, Williams and Farnsworth.
   16. Bobby Bonilla's Annuity (Matt) Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:28 PM (#2028725)
So FOX is blaming Pedro for their late start. Brillant!
   17. Marcus Halberstam Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:29 PM (#2028727)
Two batters into the Fox broadcast schedule and Buck and McCarver are already more amused with themselves than ever. ARGH.
   18. tfbg9 Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:29 PM (#2028729)
"Those long fingers that belie that 170 pound frame?"
WTF?

and Crosby on the DL along with Sheffield and Matsui, and Pavano's having surgery for bone chips.
   20. Big Train Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:30 PM (#2028732)
Another reason they did not advance, they scored 9 runs and lost with their "ace" on the mound.

Buck is an ass

This lineup makes baby Jesus cry. And Jeter's baby, and Giambi's, and so on and so forth.
   25. Big Train Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:31 PM (#2028738)
Sweet looks like a fat strike zone today. this game may be faster than the typical Yankee/Mets slowfest
   26. tfbg9 Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:31 PM (#2028739)
Choker.
   27. TVerik Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:32 PM (#2028741)
But Randy Johnson's baby just goes "Sue, sue, sue."
   28. AJM Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:32 PM (#2028742)
This lineup makes baby Jesus cry. And Jeter's baby

Isn't that redundant?
   29. TVerik Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:32 PM (#2028744)
Is Kay on the radio, or are you mistaking Sterling for him, kevin?
   30. BTF's left-wing cheering section (formerly_dp) Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:33 PM (#2028745)
Gary Cohen is one of the best broadcasters around, glad they moved him to TV since I don't listen to the radio much anymore. And now we get to listen to these jokers instead of the Mets team, who have been really impressive this season.
   31. Bobby Bonilla's Annuity (Matt) Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:33 PM (#2028747)
How good is the Mets radio crew?

Solid. Howie Rose is a walking encyclopedia and Tom McCarthy is respectable in his first season replacing Cohen.
   32. tfbg9 Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:33 PM (#2028750)
Mets radio guys are fairly good. Especially when compared to the NYY guys.
   33. TVerik Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:34 PM (#2028751)
Was Damon's shallowness on the final play of the game discussed last night?

Regardless of outcome, I think that him playing shallow was the right move.
   34. I Love LA (OFF) Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:34 PM (#2028755)
#######. Blacked out.
   35. tfbg9 Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:35 PM (#2028757)
Choker.
   36. Bobby Bonilla's Annuity (Matt) Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:35 PM (#2028758)
E-Rod!
   37. Big Train Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:36 PM (#2028762)
How bad is Ortiz in the field? How is it possible that he is any worse than Giambi?

Keep your foot on the bag and stretch Jason.
   38. Liver of blaspheming 'zop Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:36 PM (#2028763)

Regardless of outcome, I think that him playing shallow was the right move.

I disagree. Damon wasn't getting anyone out at home on a single, and his shallowness cost them that out.

If it was a lefty at the plate, I can see the argument for bringin Damon in. But righties can hit Rivera with some power, especially if Rivera is in is WWMW mode.
   39. tfbg9 Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:36 PM (#2028764)
#38-I noticed that, and agree.
   40. Psychedelic Red Pants Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:36 PM (#2028765)
Fox announcers:
-Reyes better leadoff hitter than Damon, Yankees hoping Damon can be as good of a "table setter" as Reyes by the end of the year
-Reyes being discussed as MVP candidate in NL
   41. I Love LA (OFF) Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:36 PM (#2028768)
Man, I was wrestling with my friend last night at the studio, and I can barely move my pinky right now. Its all swollen too. This doesnt look good.
   42. Paul S Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:36 PM (#2028769)
A 68 MPH changeup? Really? That's curveball speed. McCarver is an idiot.
   43. AJM Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:37 PM (#2028770)
Steal! And an error!
   44. Bobby Bonilla's Annuity (Matt) Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:37 PM (#2028771)
Stinnett comes back to earth after his All-Star performance last night.

Jose Reyes!
   46. Paul S Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:37 PM (#2028773)
Did Buck just call that "E5"? Buck is an idiot.
   47. TVerik Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:38 PM (#2028775)
Ack! Is that really Cairo in left?
   48. tfbg9 Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:38 PM (#2028776)
I think Ortizzle's below average, not comicly atrocious, like the Juicer.
   49. Bobby Bonilla's Annuity (Matt) Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:38 PM (#2028778)
Holy #### Kaz Matsui is horrible.

Why not bat Fidel second? I know he's got no speed, but the guy gets hits when he starts.
   50. Big Train Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:38 PM (#2028779)
Matsui looked not so good on strike three, excellent pitch there.
   51. Liver of blaspheming 'zop Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:39 PM (#2028780)
A 68 MPH changeup? Really? That's curveball speed. McCarver is an idiot.

Got news for you, hoss; that's where Moose's change has been all year.

Beltran!
   53. Cutter Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:39 PM (#2028783)
Game over. Series over. Season over.
   54. tfbg9 Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:39 PM (#2028784)
"I was wrestling with my friend"

Is that what he kids are calling it?
   55. TVerik Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:40 PM (#2028785)
kevin Posted: May 20, 2006 at 01:38 PM (#2028777)
Damon looked really old going back to ccatch it. He was noticably limping.

I thought he felt that the ball was going to land much closer to home plate - so not really indicating a physical problem.
   56. Bobby Bonilla's Annuity (Matt) Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:40 PM (#2028787)
Nothing can give me more pleasure than watching Miguel Cairo in left field.
   57. Big Train Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:40 PM (#2028788)
Oh my god, Miguel Cairo is our ####### left fielder?

What happened to Jones plane? Get a ####### charter for him
   58. Liver of blaspheming 'zop Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:40 PM (#2028789)
oh, for chissake, this is April 2005 defense here. ####, Joe, I don't care that Cairo has pictures of Sister Margaritte with her hands down a choir boy's pants, HE SUCKS.
   59. Psychedelic Red Pants Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:41 PM (#2028792)
Did Buck just call that "E5"? Buck is an idiot.

Reyes reached on an error (E5), which is what I think he was referring to. I thought Reyes would have been safe if Giambi weren't pulled off the bag, but a strong and accurate throw would have had him.
   60. TVerik Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:41 PM (#2028794)
I wonder if Chuck Knoblauch is available.

Why haven't there been Soriano-Yankee rumors?
   61. JH (in DC) Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:42 PM (#2028800)
Fundamentals! Whee!
   62. Paul S Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:42 PM (#2028801)
That guy was wearing a Todd Hundley jersey!
   63. Big Train Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:42 PM (#2028803)
Season isn't over, we just need Sheff to come back, and we need to shoot Johnson
   64. Bobby Bonilla's Annuity (Matt) Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:42 PM (#2028804)
Why haven't there been Soriano-Yankee rumors?

There have.
   65. Not Marv Cook Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:42 PM (#2028805)
Two errors in the first inning?!?!

I'm almost glad I can't watch this. Almost.
   66. tfbg9 Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:43 PM (#2028806)
No way the new Mets ballpark get done on time, or at 175% of the budget.
   67. I Love LA (OFF) Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:43 PM (#2028807)
Remember when Delgado wasnt making outs all the time?
   68. Cutter Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:43 PM (#2028808)
I am expecting the Yankees to go down in order for the rest of the game to give Pedro a one-hitter. Anything better than that will truely surprise me.
   69. tfbg9 Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:44 PM (#2028810)
Instant reply!
   70. Bobby Bonilla's Annuity (Matt) Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:44 PM (#2028812)
Damon does it again!
   71. Liver of blaspheming 'zop Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:44 PM (#2028813)
ARE YOU ####### KIDDING ME???? A 6 OUT INNING!?????? ####! #### YOU DAMON!
   72. Joshemy Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:44 PM (#2028814)
Damon still can't catch it!
   73. AJM Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:44 PM (#2028816)
D-Wright!

I have to go to work now, keep it going guys!

DAVID WIGGITY WRIGHT!
   75. Big Train Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:44 PM (#2028820)
Damon is terrible. Terrible.

I hate that signing. #### it, tear it up, I can wait for Tabata and Hughes
   76. salajander Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:45 PM (#2028821)
Is there any way this Yankee line-up can score 2 runs off Pedro?
   77. I Love LA (OFF) Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:45 PM (#2028822)
Can do no Wrong!
   78. tfbg9 Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:45 PM (#2028823)
Cashman reminds me of Gil the Saleman on the Simpsons, with a little less hair. Especially nowadays.
   79. TVerik Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:45 PM (#2028825)
Seriously, a three-run lead = Erik finds something else to do.
   80. Bob Koo Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:45 PM (#2028827)
I'm loving this Yankee defense.
   81. Cutter Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:45 PM (#2028828)
I will say this, its pretty cute to see the Mets players go ballistic over a win in May as if it were October 21st. Even the Yankees weren't that nuts after a ridiculous comeback win capped by a walk-off homer against the Rangers.
It pretty much shows how much respect they have for their big brothers from the Bronx.
   82. Long John McCaine Mutiny on the Bounty (scott) Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:46 PM (#2028831)
c'mon cornelius.
   83. Bobby Bonilla's Annuity (Matt) Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:47 PM (#2028835)
Cutter, this year's Mets seem to love celebrating. They go pretty crazy after any walk-off win. I like it.
   84. Joshemy Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:47 PM (#2028836)
Cornelius stinks.
   85. Banta Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:48 PM (#2028839)
I wasn't aware that Damon had lost his ability to track fly balls too.

That makes him a pretty horrible centerfielder, huh?
   86. TVerik Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:48 PM (#2028840)
No, I thought he was tracking. Same with the identical play a few minutes ago.

You couldn't see a limp on that play, eric?

Isn't damon playing with a hairline fracture in his foot? Wouldn't a limp be expected?
   89. Big Train Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:48 PM (#2028846)
Damon is worthless.

And Mets fans should go ballistic for beating the Yankees, they haven't had much to cheer about in several years, this is good for them.

The 2006 Mets are legit, and they can feel it. Of course they are cheering
   90. tfbg9 Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:48 PM (#2028847)
The Mets behaved last night after the win the same as the "Roidin' Torres" would have.
   91. Long John McCaine Mutiny on the Bounty (scott) Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:49 PM (#2028850)
big brother is right. isn't bernie twice as old as wright and reyes? and the unit?

Yay Beltran!
   98. Big Train Posted: May 20, 2006 at 05:50 PM (#2028858)
You couldn't see a limp on that play, eric?

I saw someone that took his sweetass time before he got in full sprint mode.

He blows

Son of a biscuit!
