2003 Results: Murray! Sandberg! Jones! Hall of Meriters!

In his first year of eligibility, legendary RBI man Eddie Murray captured the top spot this election for the Hall of Merit with a spectacular 97% of all possible points.

Cub superstar Ryne Sandberg, another newbie, nabbed the second spot with an almost equally impressive 90% of all possible points.

Last but not least, 19th century batsman Charley Jones narrowly beat out longtime candidates Pete Browning and Roger Bresnahan (one of these two will almost certainly be elected in 2004) with an ...

2002 Results: Two Shortstops (Trammell and Smith) and One Pitcher (Stieb) Are Now Hall of Meriters!

In his first year of eligibility, Tiger All-Star Alan Trammell scored an impressive 86% of all possible points for induction into the Hall of Merit.

Close behind him was fielding legend Ozzie Smith with a very strong 85% of all possible points in also his ballot debut.

Last but not least was Blue Jay great Dave Stieb as he became our third inductee this “year.” In his fifth year of eligibility, he received 27% of all possible points.

2001 Results: Three W’s Make It Into the Hall of Merit: Winfield, Whitaker and Willie!

In his first year of eligibility, strong-armed slugger Dave Winfied sailed into the Hall of Merit with an impressive 95% of all possible points.

2000 Results: Ryan Starts and Gets Relief From Gossage and Fingers For the Hall of Merit Squad!

In his second year of eligibility, legendary flamethrower Nolan Ryan easily captured the first spot for Hall of Merit induction with his outstanding 96% of all possible points.
