2007 BBTF HOF Results: Ripken, Gwynn, Blyleven, Trammell and Gossage!
In his first year of eligibility, iron-man shortstop Cal Ripken, Jr. was selected by the BBTF electorate unanimously.
San Diego legend Tony Gwynn was also picked by 100% of our voters.
Curveball specialist Bert Blyleven found his way on easily more than the required number ballots again for the third straight year with a strong 87%, though that was down from his 96% in 2005 and 2006.
Standout shortstop Alan Trammell was the fourth BBTF HOF pick with his 84%, up from 79% in 2005 and 81% in ... Read More...

Revising the Schedule
After DanG’s suggestion and talking it over with John, I think we should move the elections back to once every 3 weeks instead of bi-weekly.
Here’s the rationale . . .
1. More time to place newcomers in the now-huge backlog.
2. Eliminates a three-month gap between the 2007 and 2008 elections.
3. Eases John’s burden of running this thing.
4. Prolongs the fun!
Here’s what the schedule would look like (the dates below are the days the balloting will close):

1992 Results: Seaver Deemed Terrific By the Hall of Merit, Plus How the Grich “Stole” The Election!
In his first year of eligibility, immortal New York Met pitcher Tom Seaver achieved almost 100% of all possible points to win induction into the Hall of Merit. He is also the sixth player who found himself in an elect-me spot on everyone’s ballot without achieving total unanimity.
In a major upset, Oriole and Angel star Bobby Grich nosed out hit king Pete Rose to earn the second spot this year for induction with 65% of all possible points (less than a point over “Charlie Hustle”). Rose was ... Read More...

2007 BTF Hall of Fame Ballot
IMPORTANT: Please read:
This election should follow BBWAA rules, not Hall of Merit rules. However, we hope to see only players that each voter feels belong on their ballots - if you don’t feel he really is a HOFer, then please refrain from posting that player’s name (examples of whom I am referring to are Mookie Wilson, Scott Broscius, Buddy Biancalana - players who were well liked or were underdogs, but have no creditable HOF resume). Leaving 1st-year candidates off your ballot is also ... Read More...

After 17 previous times, Cardinal great Ken Boyer finally made it on the 18th with 35% of all possible points.
Taking the third spot by winning a competitive battle with a couple of the backloggers, standout NeL shortstop Dobie Moore was inducted with only 30% of the vote after 60 years on the ballot. That percentage is now ... Read More...
