1913 Ballot

Jake Beckley and Lave Cross are the top newcomers, joining top holdovers Bid McPhee and Cal McVey. Only one will get in, who will it be?

Oh well, let's leave him in the HOM anyway. Who will notice?

Not too many people since there would be a huge exodus from the project. :-)

Not Joe - my numbers match what you're saying, but you might be forgetting the top-of-the-ballot bonus.

I'd send you mine, but it's a really big file (i've all the results since 1898 on there) and my counts are usually off by 4-5 votes here or there. . .

If McLoser has McLost owing to the ballot of the Chief Returning Officer, cast 19 1/2 hours after the polls are supposed to have closed, I'd have to say he'd be entirely justified in litigating the reult to the Supremes :))

Fortunately the total dearth of plausible candidates in 1924-32, and the acceleration in our elections, should turn McLoser into a McWinner at that stage at the latest.

Guys, let's keep the politics where it belongs at Clutch Hits. Okay?

Good point, John. I think a wisecrack reopened a wound, and no point in taking that well-traveled road again..
