1. DL from MN Posted: August 10, 2011 at 08:57 PM (#3897404)The MVP results from that year:
AL:
1. E. Howard
2. Kaline
3. Ford
4. Killebrew
5. Radatz
...
8. Peters
11. Tresh
12. Pascual
15. Allison
NL:
1. Koufax
2. Groat
3. Aaron
4. Perranoski
5. Mays
...
19. Ellsworth
NV: Mathews
Versus our vote:
AL:
1. Peters
2. Allison
3. E. Howard
4. Pascual

NV: Kaline, Ford, Killebrew, Radatz
NL:
1. Koufax

Our AL results shouldn't be seen as particularly reliable.

Cumulative MMP Shares Leaders:
Mays 2.74
Aaron 2.62
Mantle 1.80
F. Robinson 1.65
Mathews 1.58
And that was a pretty awesome election, right down to the wire.
I'll repeat that. This site is a bear.
Yeah, that's fun.
And I found the top 3 remarkably close - and was one of only 2 to vote for Mays. I can't really see Hank being more meritorious at this pt in their careers when Willie still had something left in CF.
I do think there is no question who the four most meritorious players were in 1963 - and the voting reflects that really well...
