John Henry Lloyd

Was he the “black Honus Wagner” or was Wagner the “white Pop Lloyd?”

Dan/Chris - would you be able to work up Lloyd at some point? Would be good to have going forward if possible.

Obviously, without seasonal data I can't produce seasonal WARP. But to turn OPS+ into BWAA, you just subtract 90.8, divide the remainder by 11.43, and multiply the result by SFrac. Then add on whatever BWAA and FWAA you want, and replacement level for SS during Lloyd's career was around 2.9 wins below average per season. So, assuming league-average defense and baserunning and missing 10 games per season, then Lloyd's 1924-28 stretch according to Brent would be worth 117 OPS+ - 90.8 = 26.2/11.43 = 2.29*.9 = 2.06 BWAA per season, plus 2.9*.9 = 2.61 Replc per season, is 4.67 WARP per year, times five years is 23.4 WARP.
