Is that supposed to be Marichal hitting him with the bat? I'm guessing.

That might be it, David. Unless yest just happened to be short circuiting at the time. :-D

Marichal incident box

Big game. Late August. Tight pennant race. Two marquis pitchers. Marichal is 19-9, 1.73 ERA. Koufax is 21-4, 2.18 ERA. Bottom of the 3rd inning, Marichal is batting. Marichal gets upset because he thinks Roseboro is throwing the ball back to the pitcher too close to him. Marichal attacks him. Brawl ensues. Marichal is ejected, Roseboro leaves to get stitches. Koufax retires the next two batters but gives up two-out walks to Davenport and McCovey and then a three-run homer to Mays that ends up being the difference and the Giants win.

Of course, there was a happy ending. Roseboro & Marichal eventually made up and attended charity events together later in life. If you google images for Roseboro Marichal, you can even see an autographed version of the brawl here which is not the normal type of photo that players autograph.
