thing didn't work too good this time.... Can someone tell me what to use instead?

Ah goldarned it. what i was trying to say is that the pre & /pre in the brackets coding didn't work so good. now that I can't seem to use the <pre or the [pre does anyone have a suggestion for what code might work? thanks!
