Apropos of nothing, my dad actually lived a few blocks away from Lollar when he (my dad) was a kid. He played pickup ball with his sons a couple of times. It was by no means a wealthy neighborhood.

Famous for two things:

1. Stuck behind Yogi as AL all-star catcher forever.
2. Isn't he the guy who first used the biiiiig glove to catch the knucklers?

A solid guy--Del Crandall was his exact double in the other league. A country mile behind Freehan among the non-HoM catchers.
