New Server Coming Online Over the Weekend

I broke open the BBTF piggy bank and leased a new web server. The new server is significantly more powerful than the current server, so the site’s speed will be greatly improved.

I’ve finished the basic configuration and will move the site to the new server on Saturday evening starting around 10 PM EDT. If all goes well (and your ISP correctly follows the scheduled DNS update schedule), you should notice pages load quicker on Sunday morning.

I’ll also fix the character set issue that has caused some funky text in some entries, comments, and forum posts.

In the event any unforeseen problems delay the changeover (or if your ISP doesn’t pick up the DNS changes as quickly as they should), update information will be available at the new server default homepage..

As always, thanks for your patience.

I'm always amazing that a free site can continually provide feature updates. You are a prince among men, Mr. Furtado.

OK, I finally coughed up some dough, so in the words of the immortal Jack Webb, my conscience will no longer be nauseated. Money talks and bullshlt walks.

If ######## can bring up his power numbers, he'd be a great pickup in my keeper league.
