Peavy smiles and says: “I try not to yell; I try not to swear. But at 7 o’clock every night, I turn into someone different. I’m out there trying to focus. I’m competing. I can’t control myself. But I have three little boys. I want them to be able to watch their daddy pitch without hearing all the yelling.

1 2 3 4 5 6 > Last ›Zimmermann was better than his record (he didn't get great run support or bullpen work, at least not as good as for the others) but Gio is clearly the #1 at this point.
I think the Yankees/O's ALDS is a toss-up.
Yup. The Yankees' big advantage is SP. If the game gets to the 6th and it's tied or close, the playing field is very even, or may even tilt towards Balt. Their pen is fantastic.
Weirdly enough I'm looking forward to it more than the Nats' first-ever playoff game. I think it's because somewhere around June/July I began to simply expect the Nats to make it the postseason...whereas I'm in agreement with #14 that I STILL can't believe the O's are the postseason. And not some flakey "one-game wild card loser" way, but actually playing in the ALDS.
Go Nats! Go O's! Davey Johnson and Buck Showalter: Revenge of the 'Difficult Genius' Managers.
Maybe? I'm a little surprised Chen is pitching game 2. You'd think they'd want to try to have him pitch in NYS to defuse the short porch for lefties.
This series is a toss up as far as I'm concerned. The Yankees have the better lineup, but the Orioles have better defense. The Os have the better bullpen, but the Yankees aren't exactly weak there. I'm torn on the starting pitching - the Yanks have the better rotation on paper, but the homer in me sees a lot of vulnerability in the Yanks top 3.
Ooh, wouldn't mind them calling it early. Didn't think of that. I figured they would play late into the night. Go postponement!
Yep, best $4.99 I have spent.
MVP! MVP!
Sadly, I have to go to Mississauga in about an hour.
I heard first pitch in Os game will be teacher who tackled a local school shooter.
Omar would be awesome, but I doubt it. I think he lives in NYC.
This would be so bad-ass.
Seriously, WTF isn't this a 2-2-1 series with the BETTER team getting the 1st two games at home??
Oh, right ... Bud Selig.
Die in a ####### tire fire you worthless used car salesman piece-of-####.
No. I'll be heading out to the park soon, I'll pass along anything I find out, but I'll be working and don't expect to find out anything you guys don't know anyway.
When he stopped being Fistee.
Seriously, WTF isn't this a 2-2-1 series with the BETTER team getting the 1st two games at home??
That's the way they always did it when the ALCC/NLCS were 5 games, 1969-1984.
The idea is two off days in a 5-game series is ludicrous. Let's a team get away with 3 SPs.
I like the 2-3 format a lot. I hate off days in the postseason.
According to weather.gov things start to clear up quickly after 6pm. 46% chance at 7pm and 16% chance at 8pm. We might be looking at a 1 hour delay and having them play in a drizzle for 30 minutes to an hour. If it looks like it is going to be a 2 hour delay do they call it?
Nah, I think it goes back to the '80's for me. And Jack Morris.
Well, Gio could have been starting game 1.
