So I guess McCutchen has the inside track now for the NL MVP. It's odd in that he's not quite as good as he was last year, when he finished 3rd, but no one else really has a good case. Goldschmidt's out there for the Justin Morneau/Ryan Howard fans, but the DBacks fade is probably going to hurt him quite a bit.
you gotta think Kershaw is going to get some first-place votes.
The last pitcher to win the NL MVP was Bob Gibson. Kershaw won't win.
Are the voters segregated by leagues? Verlander, Eck, Clemens, Hernandez, Fingers, and Blue won the award as pitchers since Gibson did.
