I'd take Garcia, Santiago (unless Worth is a better SS) and Kobernus. They'll already have a left-handed bench bat from whichever catcher isn't playing.
Garcia is way too raw and has too much possible upside to have him wasting away on the bench all year. He needs 500 ABs in Toledo to work on his approach.
Man, this is tough. I love Ramon, but I think Boesch, Worth, Berry is probably the best play. Maybe Kobernus instead of Berry as the speedster off the bench.
Had to look up their roster to find out who 'Martinez' was. How soon we forget.
What's his status supposed to look like for this season? Ready for ST? Surprised I haven't seen a BSOHL on him yet.

I saw this and thought that they should sign some RHH outfielder then, but there are literally none available. No major league free agents, the most notable minor league free agent is Jason Michaels who had an OPS in the .500s last year in AAA. Chad Huffman looks like the best.
generally you carry two IF and one OF ... but then this is a team with a full-time DH and guys at 1B and 3B who you definitely don't want to stick in the OF 30 games a year. Still, more likely that Santiago or Worth (or whoever) picks up some OF time rather than leave this team with one backup IF.

Someone should put this against a screenshot of the February 2004 updates on the state of the Tigers...hard to believe

Santiago was murder last year, Kobernus not a SS so Worth. Kobernus they see as playing 2B and the OF, switch hitter, great speed. If they don't trade Boesch they will likely keep him and hope he finds his stroke to build some value so they can flip him later on. Santiago gets cut, Berry, Castellanos and Garcia are your Toledo OF. Kelly goes through waivers (again), becomes Toledo super sub and hits .280 (again) gets called up due to injuries (again) re-establishes himself as Detroit super sub (again), becomes subject of Jim Leyland man-crush despite hitting .175 (again).

Man, that's hard to believe. I guess the Tigers should have been in on Scott Hairston or somebody.

Santiago was murder last year,
Santiago 2012: 52 OPS+, -.8 WAR
Santiago 10-12: 75 OPS+, 3.3 WAR (+17 Rfield)
Santiago, ZIPS: 279 wOBA
Worth 2012: 62 OPS+, -.3 WAR
Worth 10-12: 71 OPS+, -.4 WAR (-6 Rfield)
Worth, ZIPS: 274 wOBA
Worth minors ... reasonably decent numbers at AAA the last 2 years (765ish OPS)
Sorry, but Worth looks slightly more murderous than Santiago. Worth is 6 years younger and "free" so you might still go with him. At best, it's choose your poison.

The Pirates would probably move Jose Tabata, if you need one.
