whoa. the first thing that pops into my mind is that he just wants to be closer to home. he's a pretty private guy and he lives in orange county, i believe.
if the dodgers start hitting, he's going to get a pretty strong pixie dust reputation. the cards have hit a ton in the two (three?) years he's been their hitting coach.
edit: guess i should have read the article first, since what i said is pretty much in there. duh.
