New York Tribune, May 20, 1913:
Read More...[Heinie] Zimmerman is said to have been incensed by [Cubs owner Charles] Murphy’s statement…that Zimmerman would be able to play when he could get his hat on with a shoehorn, charging Heinie with having a swelled head.
This afternoon Zimmerman told [Johnny] Evers that he would not play, as he was ill. They then had a redhot argument, in which Zimmerman declared that he was tired of carrying the entire Chicago team on his shoulders…Evers informed Zimmerman that he ...

* - Neither Azocar nor Savage is really an infielder, but both made one appearance at the position to which I've assigned them. Oddly enough, no "real" first basemen or second basemen were born on February 21.
Clearly Trammell needs to be fired. :-)
I kinda got the question although I've got serious doubts that double ever happened.
I guessed it somehow involved Ruben Rivera running back and forth between first and third, with Felipe Alou in the dugout swearing at him in two languages!
Triple, pickoff
Triple, pickoff
Triple
Double, but the runner on 3rd doesn't advance for whatever reason
Single, and both runners don't advance (bases loaded)
Next batter hits a fair ball that strikes another runner. The runner is out, ending the inning with no score, but the batter receives credit for a hit.
Instead of pickoffs, it's out trying to advance on passed ball, out trying to stretch to an ITP HR.
The runner on third didn't advance on the double because it was a bunt down the third base line with the catcher standing and waiting for it to roll foul. It never did go foul, and the batter just kept running while the catcher stood there.
* February 10 has won ten ganes in a row to storm back into the race. January 31 has won eight straight, and February 5 and 19 have won 7 and 6 in a row, respectively.
* February 21 is 15-27 in one-run games, 21-76 in games decided by more than a run.
* Babe Ruth (February 6) watch: Leads the league with 147 runs, 55 home runs, 125 RBI, 126 walks, 23 IBB, 124 strikeouts, .803 SLG, .490 OBP, 16.1 RC/27, 395 total bases, 22 wins, .957 winning percentage, 1.57 ERA, 13 complete games, 6.47 H/9, .199 Opp BA, 0.08 HR/9. He's "only" third in batting average, at .362.
* Charlie Jamieson (February 7) extended his hitting streak to 22 games, passing Ruth's 20-game streak as the longest of the season.
* Despite Ruth's heroics, his team actually trails February 5 for first place. The February 5 Pompeiians feature Hank Aaron (.333/.421/.576, 27 HR, 98 RBI), Roberto Alomar (.350/.411/.479, 29 SB), and Roger Peckinpaugh (.301/.364/.410, 28 SB). That's a particularly good defensive middle infield.
* Honus Wagner (February 24) is on pace for ~52 doubles and ~63 stolen bases.
* Billy Hamilton (February 15) is hitting .355/.460/.455 with 61 stolen bases. In any other league, he'd be a clear favorite for MVP. In this league, he's among the favorites for BPNNB (Best Player Not Named Babe).
* Herb Pennock (February 10) has had an excellent under-the-radar season. He's 19-4 with a 2.41 ERA in 246 innings and is the Billy Hamilton of pitchers: Having a great season that ultimately won't win him any awards.
* Nolan Ryan (January 31) has extended his strikeout lead to more than 100 over the second place pitcher, John Patterson (January 30). Ryan has 268, Patterson has 164.
