Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Mike Piazza and Craig Biggio have been elected to the Hall of Merit!

The timing for our first year electing 4 candidates could not have worked out better, since class of 2013 is the strongest in terms of electees that we’ve ever had. The top of the 1934 ballot included Ty Cobb, Tris Speaker, Eddie Collins, Pop Lloyd, Smokey Joe Williams and Cristobal Torriente, but only 2 were elected.

Bonds and Clemens were each unanimous at 1 and 2. I believe that’s the first ...

But the article says he recovered the cash (unclear about the jewelry). Why would you entrust the Post Office with cash but not the cards? I don't think it's wise to assume the criminal made a perfect set of logical, intelligent decisions.

My mom was a one woman destruction crew: The minute my back was turned and I'd moved out of the house, she threw out my '52 Topps Mantle along with a '53 Bowman Musial and a postcard from Mecca signed by "El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz (Malcolm X)". Her sense of history in many respects was a bit less than perfect.
