The passengers of the 12-person Ford Econoline van were not immediately identified by the team, but a Giants spokeswoman, Staci Slaughter, said the vehicle was full of players and possibly trainers who were in Arizona for off-season conditioning.
Mac Williamson, a top outfield prospect for the Giants, was on the van but not among the four taken to the hospital, according to Comcast Sportsnet Bay Area. The Giants' top pitching prospect, Kyle Crick, was not on the van.
Pitcher Bryce Bandilla, who attended University of Arizona, pitcher Adalberto Mejia, pitcher Dan Slania, pitcher Jeff Soptic and infielder Kelby Tomlinson were released from the hospital shortly before 1 p.m. Tuesday and taken back to the team hotel where team doctors would be monitoring them for 24 hours, Slaughter said.
