I don't hang out on Reddit, but I do read AMAs if they look interesting. Ken Jennings did one and it was terrific. Neil deGrasse Tyson did one and it was also awesome. Louis CK has done a few. Some of them are like, "I've worked at McDonald's for 6 years so AMA" and you get some insight in that sort of world you may not otherwise get.
I think it's always cool when noteworthy people open the floor to the public for questions in this way. Joey Bats doesn't say much of interest, but it's great he's making himself accessible to fans.
If you could impress one thing on young people today, what would it be?
That adults are not all they're cracked up to be. And most of them are wrong most of the time. This can be quite revelatory for a kid - often launching them on a personal quest of exploration, rather than of Q&A sessions with their parents.
Not to knock Tyson, whom I generally like and admire, but this sort of idealization of the child gives me stomach cramps. He can say this, but he should have added one other thing: And you (child) will become an adult and this will apply to you. And there are reasons that it works that way.

Oh good, that clears all that up.

Did this joke originate here?
