To waste my baseball life
Would be a sin
Release me
And let me play again #humpdink
Read More...The Marlins placed Miguel Olivo on the restricted list after the team refused his request to be released and he walked out on the club during Friday’s game.
“I told them I wanted to be released and they wouldn’t give it to me,” said Olivo, who has been unhappy with his lack of playing time, in a phone interview with the Miami Herald. “I don’t understand why they don’t release me. I told them I wanted to be ...

¹ Not that this is Loria's plan here, of course.
miami should be exhibit 1 for never, EVER give in to ownership demands for a new stadium.
so this is bud selig's prize...makes mccourt look legitimate.
i hope that lots and lots of marlins ticket holders don't renew for 2013.
bet ozzie guillen feels pretty good right about now. as does everyone else who is no longer with them.
edit: and will ANY free agents re-up with miami if the other team's offer is even remotely close? i can't imagine anyone would.
Checks calendar, no where near April.
Wow.
Turning to a market-based solution? Not in this sport comrade. Why sell the milk when you can #### the cow for free?
I didn't realize the Marlins won the World Series this year.
This is very exciting as a Jays fan - get a large upgrade at short, and fill two gaping holes in the rotation without giving up up Noah Syndergaard, Aaron Sanchez, or D'Arnaud.
Reyes and Johnson may be injury risks - even with Reyes being very durable this season - but I'll take the upside they represent anytime.
Which makes the Leafs look better.
If the Marlins had a fanbase, they'd be burning Loria. (Not in effigy.)

Its a good day to be a bluejay!
When it's real, though, it drops from "not funny" to "sad, just sad."
Why not? I can assure myself the most money out there, suffer through a year partying on South Beach, and then get traded to a contender. Doesn't sound too awful to me.

Doubt it's original, but it's true.

Would he approve a deal now that they've been gutted?

Depends on how much he really wants out of New York. I think the ARod-to-Miami rumors are probably just that, though.

There's some real dark spots there, but the top 4 in the rotation and the Bautista/Encarnacion/Reyes/Lawrie grouping is a heck of a start to a team. I'd say they are absolutely legit contenders.

Yeah, that's a pretty good but flawed team in a division full of them. The AL East race should be pretty intense next year.
Wasn't there another team that used to play in the AL East? Supposedly freed up a lot of money this year? Needs some pitching help and has had a revolving door at SS in recent years? Maybe they didn't have the players to match Toronto's offer.

Or you could be traded to the Royals.
Yeah, I seem to remember them too. I think they got a new manager, so maybe he played a role or something.
