The NY Mets have been the Humpty Dumpty of the National League since missing their shot at greatness in ’06, when Carlos Beltran’s frozen mime impersonation on a called third strike ended the NLCS against St. Louis.
leading the majors in wins (4)
"So Carlos, remember that one time I froze you on a curve to end the NLCS six years ago? What do you think about that? Wanna talk about it?"
“I told him I was happy he was here and couldn’t wait to be a teammate,” Wainwright said. “I told him, ‘The media’s going to ask us about that game, probably,’ and he just stopped me and said, ‘Hey, that’s in the past, let’s just put it behind us and move on. We’re teammates.’ I said, ‘Hey, you’re preaching to the choir, man.’”
Anyone who watches Beltran's at bat and comes away with anything other than "Wainwright's pitch was filthy on strike 3" doesn't understand baseball.
Doesn't really look like Wainwright was out of line.
The author took the worst attributes of Stuart Scott and Chris Berman and somehow made them worse.
