The Giants giving away a replica 1954 World Series ring is pretty bizarre. Even more so since I was at their 50th anniversary celebration, which is a bigger anniversary and also before they'd won anything in San Francisco, and they didn't give away a thing, although the onfield ceremony featuring quite a few ballplayers who are no longer with us was great.
OK, best promo looks like the Nats doing a 'kids work the park' or whatever the actual name was. How awesome would that be, 'working' various jobs around the park! Anyone know how the kids are chosen? Just show up to the park and hope that your kid is selected? Is there anything pre-game to fill out?
