Trevor Bauer raps about Cleveland Indians winning pennant

I’m more of a Tony Conigliaro poetry man myself.

After being traded to the Indians, Bauer produced a rap song that seemed to address his critics (like Miguel Montero), though he denied that was the case. This time around, he created a song about his team, and it was full of positive sentiment.

The folks at Indians fan site Wahoos on First reached out to Bauer over Twitter and asked him to produce the opening song for their podcast. Bauer came through for them with a solid song.

As they completed their tour and headed back on the road, they left with a lifetime of memories and a deeper appreciation of the role of preservation the Hall of Fame plays in keeping alive the stories of the game.

Definitely tilted toward my Wilco super-fan period during college. Saw them play at the Trocadero and another place in Philadelphia several times, still have a drumstick of Ken Coomer's that he tossed into the crowd.

Saw them at the Howling Wolf in New Orleans in 2000 or 2001. I was a casual fan. Tweedy said "We're going to play a couple of songs from our upcoming album" and they proceeded to play "I AmTrying to Break Your Heart", "Kamera" and "She Fell in Love With the Drummer". Then I was not a casual fan anymore.

My favorite album is Sky Blue Sky. I know it's apostasy to admit this, but I think Nels Cline is the best guitarist they've ever had. And he's married to a member of Cibbo Matto. How cool is that?

Wilco has been my favourite band for a long while now.

I saw them live three times. Last September at the Club Soda in Montreal (a 2,000 venue where I also say Radiohead in 1996 and Nick Cave, among others), I was 10 feet from the stage, right between Twwedy and Cline. It was awesome.

I really like how they revisited their older tunes with their not-so-new-anymore lineup. These songs sound fantastic live now. Much better than they ever did on records. It's especially true for Ashes of American Flag, Via Chicago and Handshake Drugs. And many others.

I really like it too. Much more than (the album) anyway. But less than the latest which is honestly very fine.
